Featured within the magic based game are a variety of spells and magic creatures from theHarry Potterfranchise, including the iconic phoenix that fans of the Wizarding World have come to adore. One player took to Reddit to share what happens when players cast transfiguration, a spell that transforms whatever players cast it on into something else, on the aforementioned phoenix.

Reddit user Sevyfire shared the twenty-one-second clip, which shows the player casting transfiguration on the phoenix, before the phoenix turns into two galleons. Galleons serve as thein-game currency forHogwarts Legacy. Sevyfire is seemingly shocked by the outcome, as they stop moving and simply stare at the sack of coins that used to be their phoenix. Luckily the phoenix wasn’t gone forever, as Sevyfire noted in the post they found their phoenix back in the habitat shortly after they cast transfiguration on it.
Commenters on Sevyfire’s post shared their own thoughts about the interesting result, with some responding in a comical fashion. One commenter jokingly writes “best I can do is 2 bucks,” noting the low amount of gold that players receive for the seemingly rare creature. Other players expressed their concern about whether the phoenix came back, with one asking “it comes back?” It’s clear that commenters didn’t want Sevyfire to lose their phoenix permanently, especially because it’s one of therarer beasts withinHogwarts Legacy.
