Hogwarts Legacytells the story of a young fifth-year student who, while attending their first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, must prevent a power-obsessed goblin from acquiring a dark power. While stopping the forces of evil is the primary focus of the game, the protagonist is also expected to complete their schoolwork and attend class.

Shortly after arriving at Hogwarts, the player will be given a chance to explore the world ofHogwarts Legacy, where they can find a variety of useful items and ingredients that can be used to create various character buffs.Knotgrass Sprigsserve a pretty important purpose inHogwarts Legacy, so players might want to acquire some at some point during their playthrough.
What Do Knotgrass Sprigs Do?
Once acquired, Knotgrass Sprigs can be used tobrew Invisibility Potions, extremely useful concoctions that, when consumed, render the drinker completely invisible. Invisibility Potions can be purchased fromthe J. Pippin’s Potions storein Hogsmeadefor 500 Galleons, but creating them at aPotion Stationis by far the best method to obtain them, as it’s much cheaper in the long run.

In order to create an Invisibility Potion, the player must first acquireKnotgrass Sprigs,Troll Bogeys, andLeaping Toadstool Caps. These ingredients can then be exchanged at a Potion Station to create an Invisibility Potion. The Potion Station in Professor Sharp’s classroom will become available to use afterthe Potion Class main quest, but players can also gain access to several upon completingthe Room of Requirementmain quest shortly after.
How To Grow Knotgrass Sprigs In Hogwarts Legacy
Players who wish to create multiple Invisibility Potions during their playthrough must locate and acquire several Knotgrass Sprigs. While most of the ingredients needed to brew potions inHogwarts Legacycan be found by simply exploring the world outside the castle’s walls, acquiring Knotgrass Sprigs isn’t as easy.
Knotgrass Sprigs can be purchased from Timothy Teasdale atthe Magic Neepon the northwestern side of Hogsmeade. They cost150 Galleonsto buy, and though this sounds like a good deal, players who wish to brew several Invisibility Potions should purchase theKnotgrass Sprig SeedsTimothy has for sale instead. Knotgrass Sprigs Seeds cost350 Galleons, but players should prioritize purchasing them over Knotgrass Sprigs if they hope to save money.
Upon buying a Knotgrass Sprig Seed, the player will be able to manually grow Knotgrass Sprigs at aPotting Table. The first Potting Table available inHogwarts Legacycan be accessed by completingthe Herbology Class main quest, and players will get access to even more duringthe Room of Requirement main quest.
To grow Knotgrass Sprigs using a Potting Table, the player will need to interact with the Potting Table, plant their Knotgrass Sprig Seeds, and wait ten minutes. Once ten minutes have passed, the player can interact with the Potting Table once more to acquire the Knotgrass Sprigs they have grown.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4, and a Switch version will release on July 25.
