In recent years, collaboration between rivals Sony and Microsoft has seen a drastic increase. More and more games are opening up crossplay options, and titles that one might have expected to be exclusive to one console have managed to bridge the gap to the other. With 343 Industries making what is supposed to be thebiggestHalogame yet, many fans are wondering if this cooperation might lead toHalo Infinitereleasing on the PS4 and PS5. EveryHalogame before it has been Xbox and PC exclusive, but some are hopeful that this is where that trend will end.

Though originally developed by Bungie, theHalofranchise is now developed by 343 Industries. Despite this, the IP is still owned by Microsoft, hence the reason that exclusivity has persisted on both Xbox and PC.Halo Infiniteseems to be following along in these footsteps, so PS4 and PS5 players shouldn’t get their hopes up.

To put it plainly,Halo Infinitewill not come to PS4 or PS5. Despite this increase in cooperation between the two video game giants, they are still businesses and exclusive games are a great way to get players to buy a certain console. Sony hasplenty of high profile PS5 exclusiveslikeDemon’s Souls,Returnal, and more, and Xbox is relying onHalo Infiniteto draw some attention. There’s been absolutely nothing to indicate thatHalo’s exclusivity would end, and even if 343 Industries wanted to develop the game for PS4 and PS5, there’s no way Microsoft would allow that.

That said,Microsoft’s approach toHalo Infinitemeans that PS4 and PS5 players don’t necessarily have to go out and spend $499 on the Xbox Series X. The game also happens to be releasing on the last generation consoles as well, meaning those with an Xbox One can still playHalo Infinite. What’s more, the game will also be the firstHalogame to launch concurrently on PC alongside the console release, so players could always take that route as well. This is all to say that there are options for players that can’t stand the thought of not playingHalo Infinite.

There has never been aHalogame on PlayStation consoles, and it is highly likely that this will remain the case forever. The only way this could change is if Microsoft somehow lost the rights toHalo, and that will probably never happen. Instead, PlayStation players will either need to try and get ahold of an Xbox console or aPC good enough to playHalo Infinite.
