Jujutsu Kaisen’sevil genius trope had been filled out by Kenjaku ever since his very first appearance in the story. When fans saw himcolluding with the Disaster Cursesunder the guise of a former classmate of Gojo, it was quite apparent that there is far more than what meets the eye when it comes to this character, and his immaculate scheming throughout the series always seemed to work out perfectly with what he wanted to achieve.
With the formation ofJujutsu Kaisen’sCulling Game, it was revealed that Kenjaku had always been a step ahead of everyone else and his plan was in the process of coming to fruition. The Culling Game was merely another step in the process of Kenjaku realizing his full plan, which was born simply out of his curiosity about what would happen. So, let’s see what Kenjaku hopes to achieve with Tengen’s Merger.
What Is The Purpose Of Tengen’s Merger?
Though his plans initially seemed very obtuse and difficult to follow, Kenjaku eventually revealed what he wanted to do with the Shibuya Incidentand then the Culling Game. Everything that Kenjaku had been plotting for over 1000 years was done in order to merge much of humanity with Master Tengen in order to fully optimize Cursed Energy, as he said in his short conversation with Yuki at the end of the Shibuya Incident.
By completing this merger, Kenjaku believes that Cursed Energy will be optimized to its most refined degree and, in the process, all of humanity will reach the next stage in its evolution. Since Master Tengen is an extremely powerful and immortal being with a ton of Cursed Energy, their merger with the human race may end up creating a massive and all-powerful Cursed Spirit, something whose results Kenjaku had been wanting to see for centuries.
Though humanity, and Cursed Energy itself, seek to evolve as a result of this merger, the real reason why Kenjaku wants to see the results is merely to satisfy his curiosity.His contrasting ideals to those of Yuki, who wanted to eliminate Cursed Energy altogether, make him the most dangerous villain of them all, as he is willing to destroy the world just to get an answer to his question and witness the birth of the strongest Cursed Spirit.

How Would The Merger Be Achieved?
To achieve the merger, Kenjaku had been planning this whole thing for over a thousand years. Since the fates of the Star Plasma Vessel, Tengen, and a wielder of the Six Eyes are always inextricably linked, he had always been stopped from doing this before, so, he devised the infamous Culling Game by making deals and pacts with hundreds of ancient sorcerers.
When the time finally came, Kenjaku awoke all the ancient sorcerers and even awoke the Cursed Techniques ofhundreds of modern-day sorcerers for a massive battle royalethat would take place around 10 different colonies of Japan. However, he took this one step further by getting the United States to launch an invasion of Japan with the promise of getting sorcerers as near-unlimited power supplies.
However, this was all a ruse and Kenjaku had tricked everyone by making them all unwitting pawns in his game. The true purpose of the Culling Game was to gather every one of the partaking members, whether they were sorcerers or non-sorcerers, and get them to kill each other with their Jujutsu. What this would do was release a massive amount of Cursed Energy from them and trap all of it within the colony barriers.
At the same time, Kenjaku went forward with his plan to finally capture Tengen after all these centuries and was eventually met by Yuki and Choso, who both took on the responsibility of protecting Tengen from Kenjaku. However, after a hard-fought victory, Kenjaku won and took Tengen with him. This meant that Kenjaku now had Tengenas well as much of the Cursed Energyand could now merge them with all of humanity to satiate his curiosity!
