Jurassic World: Dominionwill see the crossover of familiar faces and new additions in what will hopefully be a satisfying conclusion to theJurassic Parkfranchise. Now, the latest photo offers a first look at one of the new characters, played by rising star DeWanda Wise.
While it’s still unclear who Wise will be playing inJurassic World: Dominion, her teaming up with Pratt’s character in what appears to be an intense action sequence will likely mean she plays a pivotal role in the film. In fact, fans may see her cross paths with many of the characters fromthe originalJurassic Parkfilmlike Sam Neill’s Dr. Alan Grant, Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler, and Jeff Goldblum’s Ian Malcolm.

Wise, who starred in films like Netflix’sFatherhoodandThe Harder They Fallin 2021, is shown in a new image for theJurassic Worldsequel standing alongside Chris Pratt’s Owen Grady and gearing up to face whatever dinosaurs are coming their way. Other than gripping weapons and posing in their fighting stances, the wintry landscape the two characters are in is worth pointing out, as thepreviousJurassic Parkfilmshave all taken place in tropical, warm locations like the fictional island Isla Nublar. In a post on his official Instagram account, Pratt welcomed Wise to theJurassic Worldfamily, adding that she will make entrance fans won’t soon forget.
Jurassic World: Dominionis set to release roughly 30 years afterJurassic Park, and it will also conclude the entire franchise. While many details have been kept under wraps, the story will take place four years after the events ofJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,as the dinos roam free in the wilderness and other urban areas after escaping from the Lockwood estate. Director Colin Trevorrow, who is returning after directingJurassic World, described the upcoming film as a spy thriller combined with the dinosaur elements.
TheJurassic World: Dominionprologuepremiered exclusively in IMAX showings ahead ofFast and Furious9 in June, presenting the Cretaceous period 65 million years ago and depicting what it was like with only dinosaurs ruling the planet. Thefootage released to the public in November, showing the present day following the events ofJurassic World: Fallen Kingdom,as a helicopter searches the forest for the T-Rex that is making its way to a drive-in theater.
While being box-office success, the newer additions to theJurassic Parkfranchise have become a bit divisive among fans. So, let’s just hope thatTrevorrow’sJurassic World: Dominionis the worthy conclusion fans have been hoping for.
