Details regarding a planned boxing match between controversialYouTubecontent creators Boogie2988 and WingsOfRedemption have been leaked online. BothYouTubersare well known for fostering hostile troll fanbases, which have unsurprisingly taken to the idea of a boxing match between the two excitedly. The recent wave of online celebrity boxing matches makes for the perfect venue, as well. It seems like a Boogie2988 vs. WingsOfRedemption match may be happening soon.

Rumors of a Boogie 2988 vs. WingsOfRedemption match have been swirling for several weeks now, but having a match fully booked is a complicated process. The rumor was that Happy Punch Promotions, a partnership betweenonline personalities Keemstarand fousey, was putting the match together for the upcoming Misfits 007 event on May 13. That match was then confirmed a week ago by Keemstar on a #SideScrollers podcast as a free-to-watch prelim bout.

During a recent stream, WingsOfRedemption accidentally leaked DMs about the fight. At first, they’re simply looking at Twitter mentions of his opponent,YouTuber Boogie2988. However, without realizing it’s live, they then jump to their Twitter DMs and show a conversation including both Keemstar and Boogie2988. The conversation includes several messages from Keemstar, who says that while the contracts are not yet ready this is “very much real.” “We are very much really doing this,” he tells both Boogie2988 and WingsOfRedemption, as if to make clear to both that they should be preparing for the match.

One specific detail that’s particularly interesting is that Keemstar mentions how much both YouTubers will be paid for the boxing match. According to Keemstar, both Boogie2988 andWingsOfRedemptionwill be paid $10,000 each for the match. Keemstar also mentions that they’ll fly WingsOfRedemption’s wife to the event, which is in London, England.

WingsOfRedemption then jumps to a conversation with a Twitter user named Games Attorney, who has offered to review WingOfRedemption’s contract for free. WingsOfRedemption says that he has not signed a contract yet, but that he plans to box in the match if Keemstar honors what has been offered. That’s the full extent of the leak, or at least what can be pulled from what’s shown.

Obviously, $10,000 is a good amount of money. $10,000 is around what UFC fighters on the lower end of a card can be paid for a fight, too. On average, they’re paid significantly more, however. That’s likely similar to the Misfits 007 event, which will featureKSI vs. Joe Fournieras its main event. Boogie2988 and WingsOfRedemption will help draw attention to the event, but would largely be just for marketing purposes. $10,000 is $10,000, though, and bothYouTuberswould likely appreciate the extra attention. Expect more news on the boxing match heading into May.
