Despite having so many different weapons with completely individual looks,Lies of Ponly has 5 categories for weapons. These categories are blunt weapons, swords, daggers, large blunt weapons, and greatswords.
Greatswords, in particular, seem to pop up the most out of all the categories, so it’s worth going over which ones seem to be better than others. Of course, likemost other Soulslike games, players can make any weapon work, but here are some of the greatswords inLies of Pthat won’t need much work at all to reach a high level of damage.

And, as people are coming back to check out this crossover, a lot of them are realizing how much they appreciate this game and are into the idea of doing another playthrough of it. In those instances, it’s great to know what weapons to look out for ahead of time. Usually, this would be information they would steadily accumulate as they progressed through the game, but knowing ahead of time where things are makes finding that one specific weapon they’re interested in that much quicker. So, let’s go over some of the best greatswords Lies of P has to offer, in particular, as this subset of weapons has always seemed to be popular among the player base.

Let’s start things off with one of the three default weapons players will start with inLies of P, the Greatsword of Fate. This greatsword is on here primarily for how fantastic its handle is, as the handle has both great early-game Motivity scaling and an attack pattern that meshes well with a lot of different blade and handle combinations.
Sadly, however, it is quickly outclassed by other greatsword blades such as the Booster Glaive blade.

Next up is the first ‘boss weapon’ on here, it’s the Holy Sword of the Ark. This weapon is made from the Rare Ergo of one ofthe game’s earliest difficult bosses, Fuoco the King’s Flame, who is found in Venigni’s Workshop. As is the case with all boss weapons, the Holy Sword cannot be broken apart into its handle and sword components, which is a bit of a shame, but it makes sense considering how overpowered any combination with a boss weapon blade or handle would be.
But by far the best part of this weapon is its ability to go between a glaive and a greatsword using the handle’s Fable Art called Alter. This compensates a bit for the weapon’s slow speed, but not nearly enough to put it any higher in the rankings.

Taking the award for one of the most ‘metal’ looking weapons inLies of Pis the Live Puppets Axe. This thing has a lot in common, at least visually, with a lot of the Greataxe designsin the Souls games. However, instead of being made from purely metal, the Live Puppets Axe literally has puppet parts and arms mixed into its design. As a weapon, this thing is a powerhouse with slow swings that output massive amounts of damage.
However, if attached to the default Live Puppets Axe handle, the blade can end up blocking a lot of the player’s screen, funnily enough. So, most players who use this weapon recommend slapping its blade onto a handle that’s just a bit shorter. Also, it needs to be mentioned that it’s pretty absurd thatLies of Pconsiders this weapon to be a greatsword since it literally has ‘Axe’ in the name.

For the next greatsword, let’s talk about a weapon that players can actually obtain early on inLies of P,as opposed to a lot of the other greatsword options on here. A lot of the best weapons, expectedly, aren’t found until much later in the game. But thankfully players only need to reach Venigni’s Workshop to get the Booster Glaive. They’ll still need to make a couple of hours of progress, but in thegrand scheme ofLies of P’sstory, that’s not long at all.
This weapon is another odd example of one where the handle and blade are almost exclusively used separately rather than in combination. Players either take the greatsword blade off and put itonto a faster standard sword handleor they take the handle off and use it to give a heavier blade longer reach as well as that distance-closing fire-boosted attack.

Whereas a lot of other greatswords on these rankings will be placed primarily because they really excel in one or two specific categories, the Dancer’s Curved Sword is a bit different. Compared to a lot of other options on here, the Dancer’s Curved Sword is a bit weaker overall, but in exchange, it’s very balanced across the board.
It has a good moveset, has great range, covers a lot of ground with its attacks, is fun to use, scales well, and even has two Fable Arts that are both very useful.

The next inclusion in the rankings is probably the most polarizing one. The Frozen Feast isa special or ‘boss’ weapon made from Champion Victor’s Ergo, otherwise known as the Reborn Champion. The reasonthis weapon is so polarizingis that half of the player base seems to adore the astronomical damage this thing puts out per swing while the other half doesn’t enjoy waiting what feels like a year to complete a single swing.
It’s a very slow weapon, there’s no arguing that. But, this is because the weapon is built around a playstyle centered around the Liberate Fable Art which ‘releases’ the weapon, changes its appearance, and increases its attack speed.

Because the setting ofLies of Pis one where concepts of alchemy, mechanical innovation, and medical knowledge are all mixed together, a lot of the weapons in this game are a bit ‘all over the place’ visually. To be a bit more specific, let’s look at the Spear of Honor. This thing is called a spear, yet it’s classified as a greatsword. Not only that, but on closer inspection isn’t it actually more of a drill than it is a spear? Regardless, the Spear of Honor is one of the few weapons (especially greatswords)to have multiple attack types, dealing both Slash and Stab damage.
However, to compensate for all these benefits, the standard attacks of the Spear of Honor are pretty difficult to use well mid-combat. All of these standard attacks are typical greatsword ‘slashing’ swings, but the heavy attacks and charge attacks are the real selling points of this weapon. Using these attacks, Pinocchio charges forward, rotating the spear and hitting the enemy a ton of times all at once.

For the last of the boss weapons on here, let’s look at the Seven-Coil Spring Sword. Compared to some of the other late-game weapons, the Seven-Coil Spring Sword is left a bit behind in terms of stats or utility. But, it’s primarily because of how early players can get this sword that it’s ranked so highly. This weapon is made from the Parade Master’s Rare Ergo, which is the ‘real’ first boss of the game.
However, players will still need to find Alidoro the Treasure Hunter first to trade the Rare Ergo in to him for the Spring Sword, so there’s still a bit of waiting involved.

Probably one of the mostBloodborne-esque weapons in the whole game visually, the Bone-Cutting Saw is an absolute beast of a weapon. For those who recognize this weapon, yes it is the weapon the Mad Donkey uses against Pinocchio.
And, it’s understandable that he did, given how great this weapon is for tearing enemies apart. Typically, this is another weapon where players favor the blade more than the handle, as putting the blade on any fast handle or handle with far-reaching attacks suddenly makes the combination absurdly overpowered.

Ending things with one of, if not the all-time best weapon to use against Carcass enemies, the Black Steel Cutter. This weapon is essentially the Advance-Stat version of the Bone Cutting Saw, but with even better Fable Arts on it. The blade itself is worth using on just about any combination since it has innate fire damage imbued in it and there are only a few good ‘Advance’ type weapons in the game.
Also, the Black Steel Cutter is apparently very well-loved by the community. It’s obviously meant to be used as an Advance weapon, but the small scaling in Motivity and Technique does give it somewiggle room in buildsif players use the right Cranks.
