Thanks to a series of photos and new footage that shows stars Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson dressed up in the street of London, fans have a hint at what to expect from season 2.
After its premiere last summer,Lokiwent on to become Disney Plus' biggest MCU streaming exclusive, comfortably beating all other Marvel Studios shows and even attaining viewership levels comparable or superior to those ofThe Mandalorian, even accounting for its shorter 6-episode run. Coincidentally,Lokiis also believed to be the show with the biggest implications for the wider MCU, as it was the first one to unlock the multiverse storyline that’s since been explored bySpider-Man: No Way HomeandDoctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Well, it looks like those multiverse shenanigans will be back in play forLokiseason 2, as the leaked behind-the-scenes video shows Loki working withhis new pal Mobius M. Mobius. The on-set footage shows Wilson and Hiddleston wearing tuxedos in what appears to be downtown London, though figuring out which particular time period they’re in is a bit tougher because the double-decker bus and vintage-style cars are not enough of a tell for the British capital. Additional set photos show a poster for the fictional serial killer movieZaniacstarring the Marvel Comics character Brad Wolfe, which some fans feel is a sign that the famous killer could be a villain in season 2.
Another keen-eyed fan spotted similar Marvel iconography near Westminster’s Noël Coward Theatre, with some fake movie posters showing an earlier incarnation ofKumail Nanjiani’sEternalscharacter,Kingo, as the lead in some vintage movies.Lokiseason 2 has been confirmed to bring back the entirety of its cast, including Gugu Mbatha-Raw’s Ravonna Renslayer. On the creative end, Michael Waldron steps aside for new writer Eric Martin, while directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead will take over for Kate Herron.
ConsideringLokiwas left with an undesirable outcome after the season finale, due to Sylvie’s betrayal and being left in a Kang-dominated reality, it’s fair to say the Trickster God will have his work cut out for him to reestablish the multiverse’s balance, a mission that at some point will see him reunite with a variant of his old friend. Benson and Moorehead’s addition will alsochangeLokifor season 2, as the show might be leaning more into its horror influences, especially with the style the two directors teased while working onMoon Knight.
Unfortunately, fanswon’t find Loki inThor: Love and Thunder, with Chris Hemsworth joking that Hiddleston hated them for killing him so many times. When it comes to the sacred timeline though, it looks likeLokihas a bright future ahead of him.
