Konami’sMetal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1on PC will not include an important feature. The recent acnnouncement of theMetal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1will seefive mainlineMetal Geargamescome out to multiple platforms in 2023. While details are mostly sparse on which versions of the games will appear, the developer has confirmed that these titles will come out on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and, surprisingly, the Nintendo Switch.

Some leaked news has already found the existence of the already-expectedMetal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2.Volume 1’s title already implies the presence of more than one release, so the report of the second volume is enough to get a lot of fans excited. However, some concerns are already floating around for the first collection since a recent posting on the game’s prematurely uploaded Steam store seems to note a missing feature for PC gamers.

A tweet by Twitter user LordEmmerich shows a screenshot of the game’s Steam page with a note that the games require a controller to play. The notice also blatantly states that mouse and keyboard usage is not supported. This may sound like a big disappointment for fans wishing to play theMetal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1on PC. Currently, the game’s pages are now down. Whether this means that the site was just uploaded too early, or whether the developers will work on getting keyboard support in the future, the current reports that state that the games are only playable via controller seems to be getting negative reactions from players.

TheMetal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1is set to release in October 2023, which should give Konami some more time to review, reassess, and possibly fix this concern for PC gamers. The keyboard and mouse combo has long been the preferred control option for many PC gamers as it already comes as a standard with computers. Not only that, but the flexibility that the keyboard offers in terms of the number of buttons or inputs is unmatched by a standard controller.

While the developer has yet to respond to this announcement, fans are still eagerly awaiting more reports about the game.
