The update is serving as a thank you to Asobo Studio’s fans who “madeMicrosoft Flight Simulatorsuch a phenomenon,” according to the post. The update will include five new aircrafts, eight new airports spread across the United States, Germany, and Switzerland, new missions, new tutorials, and new photogrammetry cities. Additionally, the game will support DX12 for PC players as well as an updated weather system and a dev mode replay system.
Notably,Microsoft Flight Simulator: Game of the Year Editionwill not include theReno Air Racesexpansion that was announced earlier this year, despite the DLC launching on the same day as the new edition. Fans looking to race against friends online will need to separately purchase the DLC which includes theReno Air Racesgame modes and a wide variety of colors and decals for the in-game planes.

While fans are itching to get inside the cockpits of the planes from the classic Tom Cruise film and its sequel, it seems like the tie-in is required to release in a similar window as the film and won’t be appearing with theGame of the Year EditionofFlight Simulator.
