Summary
Minecraft: Java Editionhas released a new snapshot, and thanks to it, players can now enchant the Mace. Since last year, Mojang has been revealing some of the content thatMinecraftplayers will see in the sandbox’s next major update. Some celebrated additions have been the addition of the armor trims and the wolf variants, the latter of which many players have been wanting for years. But the addition that hasMinecraftplayers talking the most in recent days is the Mace, growing the list of weapons players can get in the game.
Minecraftplayers can craft the Mace with a breeze rod and a heavy core. Once in possession of this new melee weapon introduced inMinecraftsnapshot 24w11a, players experience a new mechanic: if they fall and use the Mace on an enemy, the damage will be bigger and cause a knockback effect. Another buff given to players who hit Mace attacks while falling is to negate fall damage. It didn’t take long for players to carry out tests that showed how broken the Mace already was in the snapshot.
Minecraft: Java Editionhas received snapshot 24w13a, and the biggest adjustment this time is the option of enchanting the Mace. Among theMinecraftenchantments that already exist, players can apply the Mending, Unbreaking, Smite, Bane of Arthropods, Fire Aspect, and Curse of Vanishing effects to the Mace. Mojang also introduced three new unique enchantments for the Mace - Density, Breach, and Wind Burst. The Mace itself has also received improvements to its knockback effect, such as increased power and range.
While the Mace is the big star of snapshot 24w13a, the update added two new armor trims, expanding the list ofarmor trims available inMinecraft. Mojang has also brought two new banner patterns and three pottery sherds. For players who want a more challenging experience, Omnious Events, which were previously known as Bad Omens, have been expanded to Trial Chambers. The Breeze mob now avoids jumping onto dangerous blocks or into the air, and Wind Charges no longer collide with End Crystals.
The Mace is a fun weapon that brings new dynamics toMinecraftwith its knockback mechanics and fall damage cancellation. Interestingly, a player has previously demonstrated what it would be like toenchant the Mace inMinecraft. Although the enchantments used by the player aren’t the same as those in snapshot 24w13a, this could open the door forMinecraftplayers to add more enchantments for the Mace through mods.
