The Record Relics are just one of the hundreds of different things a player can choose to do at one time inone of Capcom’s most beloved games,Monster Hunter: Rise. Granted, most players choose to hunt monsters when they have the game open, but sometimes it’s good to just walk around the levels, learn the lay of the land, and gather all the Collectibles.

With that in mind, let’s go over where exactly to find all the Old Messages and Rampage Messages in Sandy Plains, the sandiest of areas inMonster Hunter: Rise.

Old Message 1

First up is a Relic found in the bottom left of the map, right at the bottom of a cliff. Basically, players just need to run to the edge of the raised terrain area marked on the Detailed Map above, fall off of it to the slightly less raised terrain below, and then look around and they should see the Relic right at the edge of the map next to an old dried tree trunk.

Old Message 2

This next Relic is probably the least ‘well-hidden’ out of the whole bunch, as it’s right next to a fishing spot and also directly in front of where most players naturally end up climbing out of this whole. To get here, just jump down into the ravine marked on the map above with the tiny pool of water at the bottom.

Head to this little pond, maybe do a bit of fishing, then turn to the right to see the Relic tucked into a little alcove.

Old Message 3

Moving on to another Relic just out in the open, Old Message 3 is found on a small bit of flat land of equal height to the other patch of medium gray land on the map (light grey is the highest, dark grey is the lowest in terms of height). To spot this bit of raised terrain clearly on the map, it’s the tiny u-shaped bit of medium grey south of the bottommost part of the pool of water in Area 5.

Old Message 4

Normally these little patches of shrubbery are just hiding some Spiribirds or at best a Blastoad, but this one is hiding a Relic. Head to the area marked on the Detailed Map above, just a tiny bit south and a bit to the right of the number 11 on the Map in Area 11.

Players should see a gigantic dead tree with a patch of shrubs right in front of it. Walk into the shrubs and grab the relic that’s surprisingly well-hidden in there.

Old Message 5

In between Area 9 and 10 of the Sandy Plains, and a bit south of Area 12 is a big patch of raised terrain with a little land bridge connecting 10 and 9. Go onto this land bridge and look towards the direction of Area 10. There, the player should see a little cave alcove at the edge of this path with the Old Message 5 Relic square in the middle of it.

Old Message 6

To get to Old Message 6, once again head to the area marked on the Detailed Map above. To explain a bit more clearly, head up onto the raised terrain north of Area 5’s water area and look for a drop that goes underground. Fall down, and look around for a raised piece of terrain with a single tree on it and light beaming down.

Climb onto this area and look at the walls nearby. A small cave should be visible on the eastern wall with a stone ‘pillar’ in the middle of it. Climb up into this cave and right behind that pillar is the Old Message 6 Relic.

Old Message 7

If the player has the sub-camp in this area (Area 3) already unlocked, then grabbing this Relic is a cakewalk. Simply fast travel to this sub-camp and then look for the ruins of a building to the south-western edge of this area. Climb about halfway up this building to the ‘second floor’using the incredible-as-ever wall-runand look behind the stone pillars. There, stuck into the stonework, should be Old Message 7’s sword.

Old Message 8

There are a lot of Relics in the Sandy Plains hidden in alcoves along the rocky walls, aren’t there? Old Message 8 is another example of this found on the far eastern side of the map, just south of where the bottom of the number 4 on the map in Area 4 is.

To see this alcove easily, stay on the light grey raised terrain to the left-hand side of this valley and look at the walls to the right. A bit south of where the right-most wall opens up to a small living area for Small Monsters this alcove should be visible. Hop over to it and grab the sword representing Old Message 8 that’s stuck into the ground.

Old Message 9

Not only is this next one found in a very neat area of the Sandy Plains (thatRachna-Kadaki seems to love to be in), but players can also gather a lot of resources here as well as encounter the Sandy Plains’ Rare Endemic Life, the Regitrice. To get here, hop down the giant chasm of Area 12 (right about where the number 12 is on the map) while looking north.

After reaching the bottom-most part, look to the east, and players should see some ruins including mostly-destroyed walls as well as an entryway in the wall leading to more ruins. Go through this entryway and then take the next available path to the right. In this roomshould be a Bonepileand in the back left of this same room should be the Old Message 9.

Old Message 10

The last of the Old Messages, Message 10, is actually not far from Old Message 9. In fact, if players have the Buddy Recon spot in this area (if theybought theSunbreakExpansion), finding this one is even easier.

Head to the area shown on the Detailed Map above at the northernmost part of Area 12 (above ground). Look around for some more ruined walls on a relatively small patch of land with some Remobras flying above. Behind the largest broken wall here should be a Desert Rose patch, and just next to it should be Old Message 10, sticking out of the ground.

Rampage Message 7

And for the last two Collectibles, it’s the two Rampage Messages 7 and 8. To start with, Message 7 is found in the bottom left part of Area 11, underground. Players should recognize this area, as it’s where the Rhenoplos Eggs are (which are actuallyeasier than ever to transport inRise), the Rhenoplos themselves, and some Rachnoids as well.

In this area head up to the raised area at the southern part of this underground passage. Look for a break in the wall in the southern corner of this raised area, and just inside should be the Relic Sword marking for Rampage Message 7.

Rampage Message 8

And finally, Rampage Message 8 is thankfully close to home. Start off at the Main Camp or fast-travel back to it, then head out from underneath the rocky covering. Climb up onto the rocky roof covering the main camp and go as far south as the map will allow.

On this southernmost edge should be a single tree, and just behind it facing the skybox should be the last Sandy Plains Collectible, Rampage Message 8.
