The summer event is back inMonster Hunter: World, and it brings a lot of new and interesting items to unlock. The Sizzling Spice Fest adds fun new event quests, odd layered armor, and an assortment of weapon pendants. As with all events, most of theprevious event quests have made a return as well, so there is a lot for players to check off their lists. The event runs from July 22 to August 6.
Monster Hunter: Worldis one of the most updated games around, with free content updates every few weeks. Players recently experienced the hardest update yet whenthe black dragon Alatreon made its Monster Hunter return. Now, players have even more to work towards with the latest offerings from the summer event.

First off, the armor. There are a few sets that players have at the top of their checklists. Most notably is the Passion Armor Set, which requires players to complete certain quests and acquire VIP Sizzling Spice Tickets to unlock. There is also a matching set for the Handler, as well as a Pukei-pukei appearance for Palicos. Poogie even gets a new appearance, making the adorable pig look like a Kulu-ya-ku egg.
On the weird end of things, players can unlock both a Kelbi head and an Aptonoth head as layered armor. There is a bunny ear headband appearance, a golden macaque hat, and also dual blades in the shape of mugs. Shara Ishvalda makes a return in an event quest that unlocks, well, nothing at all. That is to say that players can get an underwear layered option, allowing them to wear what they please while showing off as much as possible. If nothing else, this could be used as an intimidation tacticnext time players take on the dreaded Safi’jiiva raid.
For weapon pendants, there are half a dozen variations of the Sizzling Sun pendant, so players can customize their weapons to fit their mood. A new pose, new room decoration, and a guild card option are all available once the player enters the Gathering Hub for the first time.
These new items come alongside the return of past events as well, so now is the perfect time for players to catch up on anything they may have missed. One noteworthy event is theResident Evil 2one that unlocks Leon and Claire outfits. Some other noteworthy armor sets that players should make sure to grab are forDevil May Cry,Mega Man, andAssassin’s Creed.
There is a ton ofnew and old content to keep players busy. This relaxing event is the perfect transition between scary monsters, going from Alatreon to the upcoming Frostfang Barioth release in two weeks. For now, players can look forward to hunting in their underwear with animal heads and ale swords.
