According to a report by ComicBook, the thirdMortal Kombat 1trailer shown at San Diego Comic Con features Motaro, Nitara, and Reiko. One of the franchise’s more unique characters,Motaro is a four-legged Centaurianwho first appeared inMortal Kombat 3. Nitara, meanwhile, is a winged vampire who debuted in 2002’sMortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, while Reiko is an Outworld character who first appeared inMortal Kombat 4. All three of these characters had cameos inMortal Kombat 11, but it seems they will have bigger roles to play inMortal Kombat 1. It has yet to be specified if they will be full-fledged members of the roster, Kameo Fighters, or simply appear in story mode cutscenes, however.
For the uninitiated,Kameo Fighters are a new concept inMortal Kombat 1where players are able to enlist help from various otherMortal Kombatcharacters mid-battle. They are not fully playable characters, but they are still going to play a significant role in the gameplay. There will also be some characters who pull double duty as both Kameo Fighters and main roster members, soMortal Kombatfans should keep that in mind.
It remains to be seen when this newestMortal Kombat 1trailer will be released to the masses, but hopefully fans don’t have to wait too long. Thanks to the game’s appearance at Comic Con, theMortal Kombat 1rosteris really taking shape, with both the Kameo Fighters field and the main roster field getting filled out. The game’s release date is right around the corner, so fans should have some final tallies when it comes toMortal Kombat 1characters soon enough.
