My Hero Academia 379 finally dropped and it was a spectacular chapter for the fans of the story, especially sincethe fight between Deku and Shigarakihad been pushed aside for the last few weeks. While the events of the story that were tackled in the previous chapters were certainly mind-blowing, at the core of the arc lies the battle between these two, and that is exactly what this week’s chapter ofMy Hero Academiatackled. The vast majority of the chapter focused heavily on an internal struggle for power inside Shigaraki’s body.

The chapter also focused quite a lot on characters who recently returned to the story, such as Lady Nagant. Fans saw her return and the previous chapter and in this week’s chapter, she left a mark at the cost of her body.
My Hero Academia 379: Lady Nagant’s Sacrifice
My Hero Academia379 started with Lady Nagant and a small flashback that explained how she got to the battlefield. Until very recently, she was still in detention and under medical care since her body was absolutely tattered following the explosion that engulfed her shortly after the events ofthe Paranormal Liberation War.Yet, after hearing that Kurogiri had been released, she demanded to be allowed to go to the battlefield and aid Izuku Midoriya in battle. The fact that she was a convict made this incredibly hard for the authorities, however, with the Heroes taking responsibility for her, things became much easier.
This was done despite everyone knowing that her body won’t hold up in battle because it was already injured to a severe degree. Despite that, she chose to aid Izuku in battle and decided to sacrifice what was left of her body. Being allowed to join him on the battlefield, Lady Nagant was able to aid Izukuby stopping Shigaraki temporarily.Her Quirk usage caused her wounds to rip open and it appears that she is not in any state to continue fighting. However, before she finally succumbed to her wounds, she made sure to get in another shot at Shigaraki which aided Deku greatly.
My Hero Academia 379: Shigaraki’s Internal Struggle
Quite easily the most important part ofMy Hero Academia 379camewhen Shigaraki Tomura started to fightthe control that All For One had over him. As has been known for quite a while now, All For One only planned to take over Shigaraki’s body and attain One For All for himself to become the absolute greatest power in the entire world and rule it. After all, he is the incarnation of evil in this world. However, Shigaraki realized this and was able to create a counter to this. By completely shutting down a part of his conscience deep within his soul, he was able to protect his mind from being completely taken over by All For One. Bit by bit, he started reclaiming his body from the inside and it appears that this slow takeover was kept hidden from All For One.
RELATED:My Hero Academia: The Worst Times That The Heroes FailedThe latter believed that he had absolute control over Shigaraki’s body, however, he was met with a massive shock in this week’s chapter when Shigaraki established full control over his body. All For One even went on to claim that he had no control over Shigaraki’s body anymore. His plan was then to ask Kurogiri to transport him to where the actual All For One is. However, Kurogiri himself appears to be conflicted as his mission is to serve Shigaraki.
My Hero Academia 379: Deku Vs. Shigaraki
With absolute control established over his own body, Shigaraki explained what he is fighting for. Shikaraki still wants salvation, however, he believes that his salvation will only occur when everything that is the root of the existence of the house he grew up in is destroyed. He wants to burn everything down with his memories to finally be at peace, however, Deku simply won’t let that be. Deku knows that within Shigaraki is a child crying for help. He saw this child towards the end of the Paranormal Liberation War and claimed that he looked like someone who needed help. Now, Deku wants to help Shigaraki.
He claims that even though he cannot let Shigaraki do as he pleases, he also cannot ignore the fact that he is someone who wanted help. A Hero is meant to save everyone, after all, especially those screaming to be saved. From here onwards, the fight between Deku and Shigaraki Tomura is finally kicking off and it is certainly going to be a delight for the fans to witness this after having waited quite a long time for it to be given this much attention.
