Copper is the most basic metal inMy Time at Sandrock, and players are going to need quite a bit of it if they want to proceed to the next tier of gear. However, getting this resource at the beginning of the game isn’t as simple as smashing a few ore veins and calling it a day.
Collecting copper isn’t exactly rocket science, but it can be a little confusing, especially once players reach a point where they need to make a lot of copper-based items. Here’s how to get plenty of this resource early on inMy Time at Sandrock.
Where to Find Copper in My Time at Sandrock
Before getting access to the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins, the player’s main source of copper will be from the piles of Copper Scrap found in the vicinity of their workshop. These spawn randomly and appear as piles of rusty metal.Break these with the Pickhammerto get a handful of Copper Scraps.
Small Copper Scrap piles are relatively rare. They may spawn in clusters at times, but there will be some days when very few or even none will appear. Once players reach thePicking Up The Slackmain quest, they’ll gain access to Eufaula Salvage’s junkyard, where two large piles of mixed junk will spawn daily. While the quest is active, players won’t have to spend any Gols to enter the junkyard, and they’re free to salvage as much scrap as they want.
After collecting Copper Scrap, players need to take them back to their workshop andplace them in a Recycler. All scrap items can be inserted here and turned into useful items. In the case of Copper Scrap, recycling them has a chance to give playersCopper BarsandCopper Sticksalongside Dregs and Power Stones. These will be enough for the majority of crafting needs early in the game.
After building a Crane Lift for Rocky, players will gain access to the Eufaula Salvage Abandoned Ruins, a dungeon that contains a ton of materials and loot.Copper Orecan be found in great abundance here, especially in the first few floors. Players can easily get hundreds of Copper Ore via normal quarrying, and they may sometimes encounter ore clusters next to explosive barrels. Detonate the barrels to get a shower of ore for little to no stamina cost.
Copper Ore must be smelted into bars at a Furnace before they can be used. They can also besmelted into Bronze Barswhen combined with Tin.
