The release date for the much anticipatedAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsis swiftly approaching and fans are champing at the bit to relax on an island getaway. Plenty of Nintendo fans were clamoring for the series to make a return to home consoles after the series skipped the Wii U, and now in2020 the series is headed to Switchto give fans the best of both worlds.
While the game has yet to have its own dedicated Nintendo Direct, Nintendo is still trying to drum up the hype. To capitalize on the growing anticipation forNew Horizons’ upcoming release date, Nintendo has just unveiled a brand new Switch design and bundle for the game. The bundle comes with a unique carrying case, two brand new Joy Con colors, and a custom Switch and dock design.

The special bundle is called the Aloha Edition to fit with the game’s island setting and theme. As stated above the bundle comes with a slew of custom decorated Nintendo Switch peripherals, with two brand new colors for the Joy Cons included. WhileNew Horizonshas certain preorder bonusesfrom various retailers, this bundle is the first set that comes straight from Nintendo.
The new Joy Con colors are a mint-colored for the left and a baby blue-colored for the right side of the system, with each Joy Con featuring a white backing. The Switch itself has a patterned, matte black design on the back that features various seasons, objects, and villagers spread throughout the console. The dock is a soft white color featuring an ocean and tiny island that Tom Nook sits on with Timmy and Tommy. Finally, the separately sold carrying case shares the overarching color scheme with a leaf pattern spread across the case.
The bundle will be available for purchase on March 13 – just seven days beforeNew Horizonsis released. The price of the bundle is the standard $299.99. The bundle itself with net fans the custom Switch system, custom dock, and Joy Con controllers. The specialNew Horizonscarrying case and screen protector will apparently be sold separately at various retailers, who are alreadydisplayingNew Horizonsadvertising stands.
While the release date forAnimal Crossing: New Horizonsis still about two months out, it’s a game that is sure to sell well on the Switch. The series’ die-hard fanbase combined with the Switch’s massive install-base is sure to lead to huge sales figures for the game. Until its release, fans cancheck out some games similar toAnimal Crossingto tide them over in the meantime.
