Now, a new 4K image of Pattinson in the iconic Batsuit offers a detailed glimpse at the more rugged and metallic look.

Whereas many photos or quick shots of Pattinson as Batman have been shown in dim-lit action scenes or dark, shadowy settings, the clearer image reveals more the new Batsuit’s heavy armor and the almost DIY feel to the material, as yellowish light shines down on Batman. What’s also unique about the suit is that if fans look closely, the bat symbol on his chest may be constructed with pieces of a handgun, perhaps the same one that was used to kill his parents. While this is not confirmed, it’s hard to deny the fact that it does look like parts of a gun and the grittier, more homemade look this Batman seems to embody early in his crime-fighting years.

In addition to his new suit, the new Batmobile has also gotten a gritty, more rustic-looking makeover. Pattinson’s Batman drives a Batmobile that resembles more of a muscle car that he made himself rather than some high-tech military tank that waspresented inThe Dark Knighttrilogy. That said,The Batmantrailers have shown that the latest incarnation of the vehicle is more than capable of handling heavy fire, both figuratively and literally.

It makes sense that the Batsuit and Batmobile would look like this, as Reeves' film takes place in Batman’s second year of fighting crime. The director wanted to explore more of a noir-driven, detective version of the Dark Knight, presenting a darker and more reclusive Bruce Wayne / Batman in the process. Reeves has even shared that some of the biggest inspirations for this new depiction of the DC hero areKurt Cobain and ’90s grunge, as he really wanted to hone in on a much more sinister and tragic Batman.

With a confirmed runtime of 175 minutes, there will certainly be no shortage of iconic shots of Pattinson rocking the new suit and in action. The long-awaited DC film also stars Paul Dano as the Riddler, Zoë Kravitz as Selina Kyle / Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone,Colin Farrell as The Penguin, and Peter Sarsgaard as district attorney Gil Colson.

The Batmanwill hit theaters on June 11, 2025, and will be available to stream on HBO Max 45 days after its theatrical release.
