ThreeSuper Mariogames will be joining the Nintendo Switch Online service soon. Being the standard flag-bearer of Nintendo,Mario has provided some of the best 2D platformersin the company’s history. The franchise has evolved with the times and has even transitioned to several different genres over the years. Nevertheless, Mario’s origins as the lead character in a lot of successful games will forever be remembered by many gamers.

Mario’s relevance in the gaming community has led to many products and tie-ins, some of which include being the star of Universal Studios' Super Nintendo World, as well as the recently releasedSuper Mario Bros. movie. The undeniable success of the icon has spanned decades and the whole franchise continues to be a fixture not just in the gaming world, but also in pop culture in general. Mario’s continued presence is a great sign for Nintendo, and perhaps that’s why the Switch will be getting three additional games from theSuper Mariolibrary.

According to Nintendo’s latest PR,Super Mario Advance, Super Mario World: Super Mario Advance 2, andYoshi’s Island: Super Mario Advance 3will be joining the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack library on May 26. The games will also be available to the Japan region as well. This is good news forSuper Mariofans as all three games were taken from their Gameboy Advance release. This will allow many young gamers to experience more of Mario’s rich history but will also give the older fans a trip down memory lane.

BothSuper Mario Advance 2andSuper Mario Advance 3originally released on the SNES asSuper Mario WorldandSuper Mario World 2:Yoshi’s Island, respectively, whileSuper Mario Advancewas originallySuper Mario Bros 2from the NES. TheGBA releases of theseMariotitlesare considered to be some of the best which should give Nintendo Switch Online more value for their current subscriptions.

Luckily, these new additions will mean moreMariocontent for Switchowners. As there are a few moreSuper Mariogames from the plumber’s history not yet available via Nintendo Switch Online, hopefully, Nintendo can consider adding more in future announcements. There are a few more missing gems from the whole franchise that would benefit from getting added to the library. As it stands, these three new additions will surely go a long way for those who enjoy the adventures of the world’s most famous fictional plumber.
