Fans got their answer earlier today with the announcement thatMetroid Fusionwill be available through Nintendo Switch Online on March 9. This announcement was not a major surprise to many asMetroid Fusionwas previously listed as the first game that would be added to the list ofGame Boy Advance games playable on Nintendo Switch. Like other Game Boy Advance games,Metroid Fusionhas gotten relatively few rereleases. It had previously been available on the Wii U Virtual Console and as one of the 10 Game Boy Advance games available through the 3DS Ambassador Program which was available to those who bought the 3DS before its price cut. Now thatMetroid Fusionhas a set release date for Nintendo Switch Online, fans can now look forward to the rerelease ofKirby and the Amazing Mirrorwhich will be able to take advantage of the streamlinedmultiplayer available through Nintendo Switch Online.
Nintendo has timed this rerelease ofMetroid Fusionwell given the recent release ofMetroid Prime Remastered. With these two titles now on Switch, the Switch is one step closer to being home to the entireMetroidseries with the exception of spin-offs. This bodes well when it comes to building more excitement towardMetroid Prime 4which has not been featured in a Nintendo Directsince 2017. Until there is more to see ofMetroid Prime 4,Metroidfans will still have plenty to enjoy on Nintendo Switch.
