LEGO Star Warsis, like other LEGO adaptations, an excellent way to revisit the source material in a family-friendly manner. With six original titles, developer Traveller’s Tales has been able to adapt all nine mainline films in theStar Warscanon, as well asThe Clone Wars,an animated spin-off film and television series. Since the Disney acquisition, however, the franchise has received a lot more than a new trilogy. With a whole array of canon content to pull from and plenty of potential for a new story altogether, there has never been a better time for a newLEGO Star Warsgame.
TheStar Warscanonis somewhat complex. Aside from the nine mainline movies that the series is best known for, there are also films, books, and TV series. In addition to the canon, there is plenty of media in theLegendscontinuity, extended universe content that was made non-canonical after Disney’s acquisition of the property.Star Warsis huge, and LEGO games have covered a relatively small fraction of the stories they could adapt.LEGO Star Wars: Castawaysalso showed that Traveller’s Tales is capable of making original stories for the franchise.

LEGO Star Wars Could Explore Some of the Star Wars Shows
Star Warshas ten canon television series with more to come, and only one of them has been adapted into aLEGOtitle. Even thoughThe Clone Warshas a LEGO game, it’s an incomplete adaptation. On top of this, movies likeRogue OneandSoloare also lacking adaptations. Among these series and films, many are well-liked, especiallyThe Mandalorian,Ahsoka, andAndor. While the various television series and spin-off films in theStar Warsuniverse are less known than the core three trilogies, aRogue Onegame adaptationthat potentially incorporates events fromAndorwould surely be a hit with fans, and could even be an entry point for newcomers.
The Mandalorian is Ripe for a Video Game
ALEGOMandaloriangameis perhaps the most obvious choice for an adaptation. The story of Din Djarin and Grogu has been one of the most critically acclaimed and long-runningStar Warsstories. With three seasons released, there is a ton of ground to cover in a video game. On top of there being more than enough content for a LEGO adaptation,The Mandalorianis receiving a new chapter in the form of a film that will enter into production this year. A LEGO game adapting the story so far or covering the events of the movie would be a great way to celebrate its launch.
A New LEGO Star Wars Game Could Tell an Original Story
LEGO Star Wars: Castawayswas released back in 2021 for various Apple devices as a part of Apple Arcade.Castawaysis reminiscent ofClub Penguin, providing players with a family-friendly social sandbox experience. Crucially, the game tells the original story of a survivor stranded on a distant planet. It pays homage to other parts of theStar Warsuniverse, but it is in no way an adaptation.LEGO Star Wars: Castawaysshows that Traveller’s Talesis more than capable of developing an original story set in the series' universe. Given the enormous potential for storytelling in its galaxy, there really is no reason that a newLEGO Star Warsgame shouldn’t tell an original story.
LEGOStar Warsgames have long been one of the best ways to revisit the series, andLEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, the most recent entry, is amongthe best Traveller’s Tales games. Traveller’s Tales adaptations are beloved, and there has never been greater potential for new games in theStar Warsuniverse than right now. With plenty of stories that are currently unadapted into LEGO form and even greater room to tell an original story than ever before, now would be a perfect time for the beloved studio to return with a newLEGO Star Warsgame.
