Introduced to the fans inOne Piecechapter 1086, Saint Garling Figarland was revealed to be one of the high rankings Celestial Dragons, who is more than just a caricature.

This person was revealed to be extremely capable and strong. At the same time, he seemed to possess enough power to try and even judge the likes of the Celestial Dragons themselves, making him one of the highest-known authorities in the world ofOne Piece.Naturally, fans have been wondering how strong Garling Figarland is, and the answer to this question is not that hard to figure out.
Who Is Saint Garling Figarland?
Saint Garling Figarland is one of the high rankings Celestial Dragons in theOne Pieceworld. The fact that fans know his family name also means that heis one of the Founding 20, which implies that the Figarland Family, at one point, fought against the Ancient Kingdom and its allies. The Figarland Family likely used to rule an island named God Valley. While it is unclear if Garling Figarland was the King of God Valley or if he was simply residing there, what fans know for sure is that he played quite a major role in the God Valley Incident.
38 years ago, the Rocks Pirates decidedto attack an island named God Valley, which is where many Celestial Dragons were present. When this reveal was first made, fans were quite confused as to why Celestial Dragons were on God Valley. Normally, the Celestial Dragons absolutely hate setting foot on the same land as the humans. At the same time, they usually all reside in the Holy Land of Marijoa. So, for them to be on an island on the Blue Sea was rather strange. However, it has now been confirmed that God Valley was a settlement for the Celestial Dragons as is evident from its name itself. Saint Garling Figarland was present on God Valley 38 years ago and when Rocks attacked, he is known to have played an incredibly important role.
As fans know, Rocks was eventually stopped by the combined effort of Gol D. Roger and Monkey D. Garp. The two combined their forces as, individually, they stood absolutely no chance against Rocks. Together, however, they managed to defeat him and, eventually, the Rocks Pirates split apart as well. Inadvertently, through their actions, both Roger and Garp ended up saving the Celestial Dragons that were present on the island. Thankfully for them, they were likely housed in the Holy Land of Marijoa, given that they were still Celestial Dragons and their settlement got utterly destroyed.
Among these Celestial Dragons was Saint Garling as well and, as mentioned in chapter 1086 ofOne Piece. At Marijoa, Saint Garling Figarland became the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights, which are warriors powerful enough to pass judgment on matters concerning the Celestial Dragons themselves. As their Supreme Commander, Saint Garling Figarland holds quite a high position and, by the looks of it, he is the highest ranking of Celestial Dragonsafter the Five Elders.

This means that’s Saint Garling is an extremely important character in the story and that from here onwards, his role is going to be even more pronounced, which is exactly what fans are waiting for. A bigger role would also mean that fans will get a taste of his strength very soon and that is something that many are already wondering about.
How Strong Is Garling Figarland?
Saint Garling Figarland is most likely going to be one of the strongest people in the One Piece world. Fans should have high expectations from this character for many reasons and Oda has already emphasized his importancein the Final SagaofOne Piece.The very first reason that the fans should expect Garling Figarland to be incredibly powerful is the fact that Monkey D. Dragon and Emporio Ivankov themselves hyped up the Holy Knights to be incredibly dangerous. According to them, the real war of the Revolutionary Army begins when the Holy Knights are mobilized.
It must be remembered that the Revolutionary Army has put the Holy Land of Marijoa under siege. They have no food and their storage was destroyed by the Revolutionary Army members who invaded the land. This means that the World Government are forced to make their move very soon and the Holy Knights are the ones who will carry out this responsibility. For them to put up any sort of a fight against the Revolutionary Army would mean that the Holy Knights are going to be incredibly dangerous.
This also means that Saint Garling Figarland, who is the Supreme Commander of the Holy Knights is going to be the strongest of the bunch and a very dangerous fighter, likely someone capable of going up against the likes of Sabo and Dragon themselves. Narratively speaking, it makes perfect sense for Saint Garling Figarland to be incredibly dangerous, however, if that isn’t enough proof for the fans to consider him to be potentially very powerful, fans recently found out more about him that essentially confirms him to be one of the strongest in the story.
InOne Piecechapter 1086, Saint Garling Figarland was introduced as the King of God Valley in some translations. While that might be, and likely is, true, a more accurate translation of the statement would be that 38 years ago, he was the champion of God Valley or a champion who took part in the events of the God Valley. For someone to be turned into a champion of the Celestial Dragons in an event that included pirates of the magnitude of Roger, Whitebeard, Rocks, Big Mom, and Kaido, is certainly incredibly impressive. Saint Garling Figarland m was able to hold his own against these monsters and he is still alive to this day.
The fact that he was a champion means that he played some sort of role in combat on God Valley and he is still alive to tell the tale, and that means he is certainly someone strong enough to rival these characters, if not defeat them. Furthermore, Saint Garling Figarland also has connections to Shanks and, fans already know how powerful Shanks is. Potentially, Saint Garling could even be Shanks' very own dad and, given that Shanks is a master of Haki, fans can only imagine what Saint Garling Figarland could be capable of.
He also appears to be a skilled swordsman, given the fact that he wields a saber, just like his son. The true extent of his powers cannot be predicted without seeing him in action, however, at the very least, fans can judge what level he stands at. Based on what has been mentioned in the story and also taking into consideration what makes sense narratively, Saint Garling Figarland is definitely going to be a strong character.
