Summary

Blizzard recently added Venture to theOverwatch 2roster, but the Damage hero has debuted without any new Xbox achievements or PlayStation trophies to unlock. SinceOverwatch’s launch in 2016, almost every hero in the game has had at least two achievements tied to them. Unlocking these achievements often requires players to pull off impressive feats with the heroes' abilities, helping players learn the best way to utilize each character in the game.

Overwatchlaunched with 19 heroes on its roster, with 21 additional heroes added since. Not only did all the launch heroes have two achievements apiece, so too did the new additions, encouraging achievement and trophy hunters to branch out and try new characters. This continued withOverwatch 2, as the three new heroes that debuted alongside the game all had their own achievements, as didnew post-launch additions Ramattraand Lifeweaver.

Unfortunately, Blizzard has stopped adding new achievements and trophies with the newOverwatch 2heroes, for reasons that have yet to be revealed.Support hero Illari was the firstto be added toOverwatch 2without any achievements or trophies to unlock, with Tank hero Mauga and Damage hero Venture continuing the disappointing trend. Some fans held out hope that Venture would break the pattern and come with their own achievements/trophies to unlock, but that’s unfortunately not the case.

Overwatch 2’s Venture Doesn’t Have New Xbox Achievements or PlayStation Trophies

While there are no new Xbox achievements or PlayStation trophies for fans to unlock when playing asOverwatch 2’s Venture, there are still in-game challenges that players can complete to earn sprays. One is called Excavation Annihilation, and it is rewarded to players who manage to eliminate three enemies with a single use of Tectonic Shock. The other is Pitfall, which players can unlock by knocking back an enemy to their death using Drill Dash. These challenges would have traditionally doubled as the achievements/trophies for Venture. Again, it’s unclear why Blizzard has decided to stop adding achievements/trophies to go along with new heroes.

The lack of new achievements and trophies inOverwatch 2has unfortunately extended to new game modes as well. For instance, the Flashpoint game mode didn’t include any of its own achievements/trophies to unlock, and the same can safely be assumed for theupcoming Clash modeas well. SomeOverwatch 2enthusiasts will be satisfied with just having the in-game challenges, but others will be disappointed that Blizzard is seemingly done adding new achievements and trophies to pursue to the hero shooter game.
