Overwatch 2players have discovered new audio cues for the game’s new heroes on the Horizon Lunar Colony map. Blizzard introduced three new characters with the launch ofOverwatch 2, Junker Queen, Sojourn, and Kiriko. The rush of new heroes has left someOverwatchfans hungry for backstory and new lore. While datamining has ruined a lot of surprises, adding context by visiting the Horizon Lunar Colony map may reveal some added character toOverwatch 2’s new heroes – as well as insight into Blizzard’s new development limitations.
What makes these new dialog prompts interesting is that the Horizon Lunar Colony map is out of rotation. As such, mostOverwatch 2players will not have encountered them. Getting the dialog to activate requires going to theHorizon Lunar Colony map’s giant telescope and taking a look. Each hero has a line of dialog relating to what they see, which is a map of a piece ofOverwatch’s world.

The video showing eachOverwatch 2hero’s dialog starts withJunker Queen. Junker Queen’s dialogue once looking at the map is “My entire realm in plain view.” Given her role as the leader of the Junkers and the ruler of Junkertown, never mind her ego, Junker Queen seeing the world as her throne is no surprise. Sojourn is next and her comment is, “Wow. I need to get one of these.” It’s a rather casual comment, perhaps tied to her appreciation of technology given her cybernetic upgrades.
Perhaps the most interesting response is from Kiriko, however.Kiriko isOverwatch 2’s newest hero, playable for the first time with the game’s arrival. Kiriko looks into the telescope and says absolutely nothing. She apparently has no dialogue created for the map.
Why Kiriko has no dialogue for the telescope is unclear. Since other heroes all have dialogue for it, it seems very unlikelyBlizzardsimply decided not to create one for her. There are two other possibilities that seem more likely. First, Blizzard either forgot or ran out of time. Kiriko may have been finished last minute and the dialog just may not have been a priority. Alternatively, Blizzard may just stop making these types of dialog for future heroes.
Creating a new hero is a lot of work and Blizzard has changed a lot since it last introducednew characters toOverwatch. What Blizzard plans forOverwatch 2, where its priorities lie, and how that meshes with the old vision forOverwatchis all in question.
Overwatch 2is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
