Overwatchis a hero-based shooter that contains a diverse cast of characters. While the game includes many rare skins for these heroes, some fans believe that thedevelopers at Blizzardcould do a better job of showing off these cosmetics. Recently, one fan came up with an intriguing idea that involved adding a design element fromApex LegendstoOverwatchto help display hero skins.
WhileOverwatchhas been out for over five years, players are still coming up with new concepts to make the game more interesting. In a post on Reddit, a user known as quazar_21 shared an idea they had brainstormed for the post-match screen inOverwatch. The concept was inspired by thebanners seen during matches inApex Legends. According to quazar_21, adding a similar banner system to the end ofOverwatchmatches would be a quality improvement. To illustrate the idea, the Reddit user even posted a picture of an edited image from the game.

The image shared by the quazar_21 showed the hero cards seen at the end of a match. However, the designs had been altered to be more reminiscent of the banners inApex Legends. In this mockup, full-body pictures of heroes were placed on the right side of the card, with several stats and accompanying medals positioned on the left. In addition, quazar_21 suggested that these cards should be progressive. This meant that as more votes were added to a hero card, the character pose should change. In addition, they proposed including various card effects as more votes were accumulated for a hero.
These hero cards inspired byApex Legendshave caught the attention of numerous members of theOverwatchcommunity on Reddit. With nearly 900 upvotes in less than 12 hours, many thought the concept would be a great addition to the game. Some claimed that this progressive banner system would be an incentive to play better in matches, as players would see their hero card poses if they performed well. Others noted that this would be an effective way of showing off rare skins as well.
Given the recent delay ofOverwatch 2, fans have been clamoring for new content to be added to the originalOverwatch. This new hero card concept based onApex Legendswould be an impressive addition to help keep the gameplay experience fresh. In addition to this suggestion from the community, other fans recently suggested that thedevelopers add Sojourn toOverwatchto make up for the indefinite delay of the sequel.
Time will tell what happens regarding thedevelopment ofOverwatch 2. Hopefully, the developers bring more features to the originalOverwatch, such as these progressive hero cards, to help make the wait for the sequel more bearable for content-starved fans.
