Since the release ofPalworldin early 2024, one of the main objectives for every player ready to take on life in a world full of monsters is to gather resources and build a base suitable enough to live in and protect the pals that have been added to the collection. Other missions include filling out the paldeck, defeatingthe many Rayne Syndicate Bosses, and completing the story, but to do so, gathering materials and building weapons and armor will ensure this is done quickly and effectively.

One feature heavily anticipated by thePalworldcommunity is the introduction of a new resource known as meteorite fragments. Not only is this item hard to come by, but it also challenges players with taking down Syndicate henchmen and powerful pals who are looking to score the bounty of fallen meteors. Players who wish to stockpile these precious meteor fragments will need to be patient with random drops, as well as skilled enough to take down those who get in the way.

Getting Meteorite Fragments in Palworld

Meteorite fragments are exactly what one would expect when venturing out across the islands ofPalworld. They can only be found after a meteor falls from the sky and lands into its destination. Luckily, players will be warned ahead of time of a meteor that is falling with a message that flashes on the game screen. Players will also be notified of where it’s landing, with a meteor logo displayed on the compass tracker. Players won’t have to fly to another island to get to the meteor, as they typically fall in the same area the player is in.

Once the meteor has crashed to the ground, a Syndicate Gunner and their trusted Xenogard will quickly make their way to the scene to begin smashing the meteor and collecting the precious meteorite fragments. Players will have the choice between leaving the meteor alone if the Xenogard is too powerful, or trumping their efforts and defeating them in battle before collecting the rewards for personal use later. The Syndicate Gunner is usually at level 25 and the Xenogard at level 23, so taking them both down shouldn’t pose too much of a problem for the more-experienced players.

An additional bonus to farming this resource is to actually catch the Xenogard belonging to the Syndicate Gunner and placing it on the team. Xenogard’s partner skill, Crater Enthusiast, will boost the player’s ability to farm more meteorite fragments andpure quartz, making the grind feel a little less tedious. Since Xenogard can only be obtained through the meteor mini event, it’s the perfect time to snag one up before collecting the meteorite fragment.

Using Meteorite Fragments in Palworld

Currently, there is only one use for meteorite fragments — the Meteor Launcher. To unlock the Meteor Launcher, players will need fiveAncient Technology Pointsbefore they can consider building it. Once the item has been unlocked in the Technology tab, players are required to use the following to build one Meteor Launcher:

The cost for one Meteor Launcher may appear to be high at first glance, it’s worth noting that one meteor can produce upwards of 100 meteorite fragments. This means one should suffice in order to procure enough meteorite fragments to build a Meteor Launcher. With the meteor mini event occurring on random occasions, the only difficult aspect to scoring some meteorite fragments will be to wait it out. Players should consider stocking up on more of this resource for future use, as there could be more equipment and tools that will require them in the future.
