WhilePersona 5andPersona 5 Royalare massive games, not every idea or piece of content made it to the final release. One of the cut scenes was from the official release ofPersona 5was leaked earlier today. This comes from a user named Faz, who had previously leaked otherscenes cut fromPersona 5. This leaked scene fromPersona 5features an unused version of the scene after that takes place after players complete Shido’s palace. To give some background,The Phantom Thievesfind it difficult to escape from Shido’s palace after defeating him. Ryuji takes a big risk to ensure their safety, but there is a big explosion before he can join them back in the real world. After returning to the real world, he is not with the team, letting the characters believe he had perished in the explosion. Ryuji returns a short while later and makes a joke about the incident before getting beaten up by a group of angry friends.
The whole scene is bizarre, but the unused draft is probably worse. It features several lines of voiced dialogue with the characters expressing their anger atRyuji’s actions inPersona 5. As seen in the video, characters behave more extreme and out of character, especially the bit about picking up his bones. The full video then reveals some unused animations of the characters hitting Ryuji.
Even though the final version is still not great given that Ryuji saved everyone, it’s better than the unused version. This leak shows The Phantom Thieves acting out of character for a joke that probably wouldn’t have gone over well withthePersonaaudience. Faz has also added a link to a modded version of this scene where Ryuji does not get beat up.
