This highly-anticipated historical epic will revolve around Jin Sakai, one of the last samurai on Tsushima Island in Japan during the 1270s. The still of the menu screen featuresJin’s samurai swordsitting alone planted into the ground with a swirling storm behind it. Some players are speculating the meaning behind the title screen, although nothing can be known until the game’s full release next month. But the storm looks to be a common symbolic element throughout the game.
A few Twitter users are comparing the menu screen style to that ofFinal Fantasy 7 Remakesaying that it “looks familiar.” The design is similar in that it features Cloud’s iconic buster sword sticking out of the ground against a dark background.
Interestingly, this menu screen is a direct remaster of its original version. But inFF7 Remake’s screen, players are able to see different angles on the sword as they navigate through different menu options. SomeGhostfans are wondering if Sucker Punch’s menu screen will take a similar approach.
The menu screen also emanates similar vibes toThe Last of Us Part 2’s lone boat sitting in the ominous fog. While the finale of leaves some things up in the air, some perceptive players have noticed that the menu screen providessymbolic insight towards theTLOUcharacters’ fates. PlayStation fans are noticing this minimalist trend from 2020 titles and wonder what the meaning behind Jin’s sword among the storm will be.
After fluctuating release dates,The Last of Us Part 2was pushed back, but it looks likeGhost of Tsushimawill be finally coming to players next month.
Ghost of Tsushimais set to release on June 04, 2025, exclusively for the PS4.
