Pokemon GO’s rollout of Alola Pokemon throughout the year has already seen plenty of fan-favorite creatures introduced fromPokemon Sun and Moon. The “Season of Alola,” which ran from March to the start of June, added popular Pokemon like the Alolan starters and the island guardian Tapu Pokemon. The popular mobile game’s most recentcrossover with thePokemon Trading Card Gamealso introduced the bug Pokemon Wimpod and Golisopod. Now, Niantic and The Pokemon Company have officially unveiled a new trio of Ultra Beasts will be coming to the game later this year.
With the introduction of Alola toPokemon GOwrapping up earlier this month, many fans have been eager to see the mysterious inter-dimensional Ultra Beasts added to the game. The start of Niantic’s 2022 Pokemon GO Fest events introduced the first member of the Ultra Beasts, the poison-type Nihilego, with more expected to arrive later in the year. Now,Pokemon GOhas officially revealed the arrival of Pheromosa, Buzzwole, and Xurkitree to come during Pokemon GO Fest’s in-person events.

An official announcement from Niantic Wednesday morning revealed thatthree new Ultra Beastswill be coming toPokemon GOwith each exclusive to a specific GO Fest location. Players attending the July 1st event in Berlin will be able to encounter Pheromosa while Buzzwole will be exclusive to the July 22nd event in Seattle and Xurkitree to the August 5th event in Sapporo. The announcement post also confirmed that the three Ultra Beasts would later be available globally during the “Season of GO” event.
The Ultra Beasts' introduction toPokemon GOalso comes with a new item fromPokemon’s seventh generation, Beast Balls. Players attending the in-person events will be able to obtain a limited number of Beast Balls through the Special Research running throughout the festival. Pokemon GO Fest’s on-site festivities will also feature a variety of smaller bonuses such as reduced hatch distance for eggs and increased Team Rocket balloon spawns. Players will also be able to find Cowboy Hat Snorlax during the events as well as several Unown variants.
While the introduction of Alola has mostly taken the spotlight inPokemon GOduring 2022, Niantic has continued to roll out plenty of new Pokemon from the franchise’s past.Pokemon GO’s Adventure Week 2022 earlier this month saw thearrival of the Kalos fossil Pokemon, Amaura and Tyrunt. The start of Pokemon GO Fest 2022 also introduced the game’s newest mythical Pokemon in Gen 4’s Shaymin. With more Ultra Beasts set to arrive and rumors ofPokemon Scarlet and Violetcreatures joining the game,Pokemon GOlooks to have an eventful second half of 2022 ahead.
