Week two ofPokemon GO’smassive Halloween Mischief eventmay not kick off until October 22, but it’s never too early to start planning. The week will obviously feature some special spawns, research, and other bonuses; but there will also be some exciting Battle Raid boss changes, as well.
During week two, Darkrai will be returning to Legendary Battle Raids inPokemon GO, but this time around the boss will know Sludge Bomb. This presents a pretty excitingPoGOmetagame opportunity and PvE and PvP fansmay both want to take the time to battle and catch this boss while it has the move. First, players will need to update their counter roster though.

This battle raid boss can be a very tough fight, but players should be able to take it down with a team of 3-6 players if everyone is using the correct counters. Some very advanced players may be able to duo Darkrai, but that is only recommended for maxed out players with perfect counters andthe correct Friendship and weather boosts. For the average Battle Raid user, these are the best choices for filling out a lineup to take advantage of Darkrai’s weaknesses to Fighting-, Fairy-, and Bug-types.
The most important thing when preparing for this battle is going to be to stick withpowerful Fighting- or Fairy-type Pokemonwho can take a hit. Luckily, those are pretty popular counter types, so the average battle raid will hopefully already have some of the top recommendations powered up from other recent boss fights…
Best Darkrai Counters
The most important thing to remeber when preparing is to enter the battle with enough friends (at least three or four mid- to high-level players) and to focus on using Pokemon that take advantage of Darkrai’s weaknesses. Don’t hesitate toburn through some Stardust, Rare Candy, and TMs on the right Fighting- and Fairy-type Pokemon to properly prepare for the big fight.
In the coming weeks, we should learn more about what other events will be arriving during the early days of the Season of Mischief. Be sure to check back in the near future for morePokemon GOstrategy guides, news, and updates. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
