The research task that most players are intimidated by is the task given in order to move on to trainer level 42. This task requires players to catch 200 Pokemon within a single day, which is way more Pokemon than the average player catches even in a week. However, this task is still doable if trainers go about it the right way.
While any Pokemon catches count toward this total, the number caught will reset at midnight in players' local times. This means that players will have a full 24 hours to complete this research task.
The first step that players should do is prepare. While they won’t need 200 Pokeballs to start with, having a good number can help prevent complications down the line. Taking advantage of thefree daily boxinPokemon GO’s shop should help increase the numbers. Players should also have a good supply of incense and lures. Lures, however, are especially important.
The next step is to find a location where there is at least one PokeStop. Themore PokeStopsclose together the better, but players should keep in mind if they have permission to be in the location they plan to be in, as they may need to stay there for some time.
It is recommended that players travel to their planned location on foot and use and incense. This is so that they can take advantage of the Pokemon found on the way and thePokemon attracted by the incense. After arriving, players should still keep their incense up to increase the spawn rates around them.
At the PokeStop or PokeStops, players should put lures on each PokeStop they are in range of. Having other trainers around can help make this easier. The combination of the constant incense and lures should keep the spawn rates going allowing players to eventually reach 200 catches within the 24 hour time period. These spawn rates can be increased even further if players choose to tackle this task on aCommunity Day eventwhere spawn rates are already heightened.
