Another Galarian Pokemon form has been added toPokemon GOwith the start of theA Very Slow Discovery event. This event introduces Galarian Slowpoke, a purePsychic-type Pokemonas opposed to the original Slowpoke’s dual Water and Psychic-type. Players are also able to evolve it into Galarian Slowbro.
Like with many ofPokemon GO’s events, A Very Slow Discovery has its own research tasks to complete as well as a Collection Challenge. Luckily, this Collection Challenge is easier than most other ones, letting more players earn its rewards.

Players have from June 8th at 10:00 AM to June 13th at 8:00 PM in their local times to participate in this event and claim any rewards from it. While only four Pokemon need to be found for this collection challenge, it’s still good to get it out of the way before running out of time.
How to Complete A Very Slow Discovery Collection Challenge
As previously stated, four Pokemon players need to obtain while the event is running to complete the Collection Challenge. These Pokemon are:
Slowking
Galarian Slowpoke
DuringA Very Slow Discovery, players will be able to find the original Slowpoke the easiest. This is due to is being among the increased spawn rates in the wild, allowing players to find and catch one easily. Players can also encounter Slowpoke through specific field research tasks as a reward. These field research tasks are:
Catch eight Psychic-type Pokemon
Evolve a Psychic-type Pokemon
Slowbro may also seem to fit under this category as well, but wild Slowbro caught from the wild won’t count toward this Collection Challenge. Instead, players need to get at least 50 Slowpoke candies and evolve a non-Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro.
Like with Slowbro, Slowking also can’t be caught via encounters for the Collection Challenge. It also requires 50 Slowpoke candies to evolve, but it also needs aKing’s Rock evolutionary item. Players can easily get one, though, by going into the in-game shop and claiming the free event box during this event. It will contain 20 Pokeballs, fifteen Great Balls, and a King’s Rock.
Finally, Galarian Slowpoke has multiple ways of encountering it, just like the original Slowpoke. Players might not easily find it in the wild during this event, but it is one of the current One Starraid bosses. It is also available as a reward encounter after completing certain field research tasks. These are:
Evolve three Slowpoke
Win a raid in under 60 seconds
By completing the A Very Slow Discovery Collection Challenge, players can earn 3,000 XP, 30 Ultra Balls, and a Slowpoke Forever Shirt cosmetic item for players' trainer avatars. It is unknown if this shirt will return after the event.
