Pokemon GOplayers accomplished every task necessary throughout GO Fest 2020 to unlock all of the August Ultra Rewards. Although there has beensome serious Dragon Week dramaand a surprising lack of Timed Research during Enigma Week, the festivities are carrying on and it is almost time for the third and final reward week to arrive. Enigma Week only has a few days left and then it is time for Unova Week to take over the mobile AR game.
Similar to the first two events, the next event also brings some special spawns, Battle Raids, and shiny opportunities toPokemon GOfor a full week. The event is scheduled to kick off this Friday, August 14 at 1pm PT. At this point, it’s unclear if the third and final Ultra Reward Week will bringa new chain of timed researchfor players to power through and earn special rewards and encounters. Many fans seem to be hoping that is the case, but with a lack of Timed Research during Enigma Week it does seem a little unlikely.

With the last round of rewards on the way, players are looking forward to filling in some additional spots in the Unova Pokedex and hopefully picking upsome powerful metagame Pokemon, as well. Genesect is a powerful and popular Pokemon, so it seems likely that 5-star Battle Raids will be very popular all week long once the Unova bonuses kick off…
When does Unova Week Start?
Unova Week will run from Friday, June 18, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. to Friday, Jul 30, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7).
What are the Unova Week features and bonuses?
Sewaddle, Cottonee, Emolga, and Bouffalant—all originally discovered in the Unova region—will be appearing in the world of Pokémon GO for the first time!
Bouffalant will be appearing in New York City and the surrounding areas.
Genesect will be in five-star raids, and if you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny one! You might also encounter a Shiny Roggenrola.
Once the event is live, we should learn a lot of additional details about exactly which other Unova region pokemon will be features in increased spawn rates and what sort of tasks players are whether or not any additional Timed Research will be offered up for players to tackle. Once the full lineup of new Battle Raid bosses appears, players will also want to start work on some new counter rosters, as well.Genesect will likely be the most popular raidthanks to its shiny possibility, but there will likely be some other popular options hatching throughout the week, as well.
Once the new event arrives this weekend, the festivities should give trainers a good reason to continue catchingthe best Unova Pokemon in the gameand getting closer to that complete Pokedex. Check back for morePokemon GOupdates closer to the event. Until then, good luck out there, trainers!
