The world ofPokemon Legends: Arceusis vast and full of wonder, and one of the features it carries over from recent titles is the ability to customize the player character. Despite this, most of the trailers and promotional images show the player character looking like the characters offered in the original Sinnoh games. OnePokemon Legends: Arceusplayer recently decided to exercise their creative freedom by turning their player character into Naruto Uzumaki.

Naruto Uzumaki is the main character ofNaruto, one of the most popular shonen manga to hit the west. Naruto has made his mark on popular culture with a slew of movies, anime, a sequel series focusing on his son, andeven an appearance inFortnite. With all this star power behind him, it may not be a surprise to find gamers cosplaying as him in video games.

Redditor FrottleTheGreat shared an image of their player character dressed up as Naruto in a post titled “I’m gonna be the next Pokekage, believe it!” The character design features spiked blond hair, bright blue eyes, the game’s tangerine ninja attire, and a dark blue headband with a golden Poke Ball symbol. It bears a striking resemblance toNaruto’s iconic outfit and hairin his own franchise.

The PokemonNinetalesis also prominently featured in the screenshot, where it is shown looking toward Naruto. This is clearly meant to represent the Nine-Tailed Fox demon found in the actualNarutoseries, which was sealed inside of Naruto’s body when he was an infant. Although the Nine-Tailed Fox is much larger and more powerful than Ninetales, it may be easy for fans to draw a parallel between the two. Not only are they both based on the mythical nine-tailed foxes found throughout Japanese culture, but they also both feature nine tails and fire-themed abilities.

As of writing, it appears that other fans find this in-game Naruto cosplay interesting. One user complimented FrottleTheGreat’s work, while two more made references to techniques from the Naruto series that might be effectiveagainst the Alpha Pokemon. Several users replied by sharing which characters from other franchises they had dressed their player characters up as–namely, Roronoa Zoro fromOne Pieceand Tanjiro Kamado fromDemon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. A second user openly wondered which property had more plot holes,NarutoorPokemon Legends: Arceus, which is a bold comparison given how confusing theNarutotimeline can be.
