One player setting out across the Paldea region inPokemon Scarlet and Violethas managed to capture the amusing moment that they started a battle with a wild Pokemon while falling off the side of a cliff.Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers have been quick to share countless other hilarious clips over social media since the Generation 9 titles released in November, some featuring the consequences of some ridiculous bugs with others just showing off some moments with perfect comedic timing.
AlthoughPokemon Scarlet and Violethave been infamous for their poor technical polishat launch, being criticized by fans due to the games' performance issues, lackluster graphics, and huge number of glitches, many of the games' bugs have been responsible for creating some incredibly funny moments that fans won’t soon forget. The opportunity for such moments have also partly been due to the many new gameplay features introduced to the world ofPokemonthis time around. Though many of the open-world features seen throughout the games are a development of those introduced inPokemon Legends: Arceusearlier this year, many clips provided by fans have shown that they can be a recipe for various unexpected moments inScarlet and Violet. This clip in particular highlights yet another cliff-related incident, which seem to besurprisingly common acrossPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea region. A clip shared on Reddit by the user no_fun_banana shows just what can happen if Trainers aren’t careful when starting battles near the edges of ledges, as a battle starting against a wild Chansey quickly takes a turn for the worse. As the player initiates a battle with the wild Pokemon, the two competing Pokemon automatically reposition themselves nearby - although neither of them looked first, as this results in both parties leaping and tumbling down the side of the cliff. Hilariously, this doesn’t even end the Pokemon battle, instead allowing the player to watch as the two Pokemon slowly slide away.
Similar bugs relating to the new ability for players to battle in the overworld have resulted in other funny incidents as well. Disappearing Pokemon and awkward camera angles led to another recently shared clip inPokemon Scarlet and Violetwhich made it seem like the player character started fighting a wild Pokemonthemselves with their own bare hands.
Although many of the glitches inPokemon Scarlet and Violethave undoubtedly led to some humorous momentsfor fans, many players remain upset that aPokemongame of this caliber could launch with so many technical issues. While many have thoroughly enjoyed the games' new gameplay mechanics, story, and characters despite the issues, fans continue to urge Game Freak to release fixes for some of the games' most glaring problems.
