With morePokemonfans getting their hands onPokemon Scarlet and Violet, some players continue to voice their disappointment with shiny Paldea Tauros. Shiny Pokemon were introduced to the franchise with Gen 2 and have become a staple of the games ever since, with some shinies being praised, while others like Paldea Tauros fromPokemon Scarlet and Violetare remembered less favorably.
A Reddit user has garnered over 1,900 upvotes on theirPokemon Scarlet and Violetpost that pokes fun at the shiny that is Paldean Tauros. With each main title sincePokemon Sun and Moon, regional variants of existing Pokemon have been added slowly to the franchise, withPokemon Scarlet and Violetonly adding a few Paldean forms. Other than Tauros,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers may also catchPaldea Pokemon formsof Primeape and Wooper, which both differ drastically from their standard forms, while evolutions of Dunsparce and Girafarig provide another avenue of new designs.

Reddit user Bwj7 recently shared aPokemon Scarlet and Violet-related meme that focuses on Paldea Tauros and its shiny form that barely differs from the standard version. Placing the two Paldea Tauros next to each other in their meme, Bwj7 asks what thePokemoncommunity’s least favorite shiny is while it suggests that the worst one has to be the Tauros in question. Although the differences between the standard and shiny Paldea Tauros aren’t immediately distinguishable, the meme highlights that therarer version of the Pokemonhas a darker face and slightly altered shape to its horns.
Many shiny Pokemon are unique compared to their base forms, normally swapping one color combination for a completely different one. This is the case with shiny Pokemon like Gyarados who turns from blue to red, Arbok becomes yellow when it’s normally purple, Luxray swaps blue for yellow, and many more that have clearer attributes that separate them from the non-shiny. The shiny Paldea Tauros is amongotherPokemon Scarlet and VioletPokemonlike Charcadet and Tandemaus that fans have voiced their displeasure for since the November launch of the games.
Though manyPokemonfans have expressed their agreement to Bwj7’s Reddit post,Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paldea Taurosalready have their own critics for not being that different from their basic form compared to other regional variants. Given that more shiny Pokemon are introduced with each new Pokedex entry, it’s possible that Paldean Tauros could be topped for players that believe the creature is currently the worst.
