The Pokemon Company and TiMi Studio Group releasedPokemon Unitelast year, and the MOBA has reached a considerable player base through multiple updates over the months. ThePokemon Unitefirst anniversary plans have been revealed, and the big update will include numerous changes to the game.
Pokemon Unitehas confirmed several new things coming to the game with the one-year anniversary update, including six Pokemon, a game mode, events, and Pikachu Holowear. The previous seasons ofPokemon Uniteoffered battle pass progressionthrough weekly and seasonal missions, but the year-one patch also includes its own challenges to complete for free rewards. A system called Pokemon Boost Emblems is among the additions to the MOBA, and they rank between gold and bronze, which may suggest that which one a player gets is based on gameplay.

The first wave of Pokemon joiningPokemon Unitewith the big upcoming patch are theGen 4 Eeveelution Glaceon, Buzzwole, and Tyranitar, while the second wave remains undisclosed by TiMi Studio Group.Pokemon Uniteplayers participating in the anniversary festivities can acquire Glaceon between July 21 and August 14. Buzzwole arrives on August 4, and Tyranitar makes its debut on August 16. Although thePokemon Unitefirst anniversary trailer may have small hints at the second wave of Pokemon, they may remain obscured until September when they start to roll out.
The bigPokemon Unitepatch features an Anniversary Cake Challenge that gives a long line of exclusive freebies, including celebratory Holowear for Crustle and Cramorant.Pokemon Unitefans will also be able to acquire unique Holowear like Firefighter Blastoise, Bedtime Snorlax, Checkered Sylveon, and Concert Lucario, which fittingly matches thePikachu outfit. A newPokemon Uniteevent brings Boss Rush to the MOBA game mode rotation with the first-anniversary update, and players can compete in it to earn further rewards.
ManyPokemon Unitefans have expressed enthusiasm for each of the announcements for the one-year anniversary, notably the addition of six Pokemon that will each provide their own abilities like new characters introduced to other MOBA’s likeLeague of Legends. Other Pokemon thatUnitefans speculated would join the game in the future include Altaria, Flygon, Gallade, and Swampert, while many celebrated the addition of Tyranitar, one of the popularGen 2 Pokemon. Several replies to thePokemon Uniteone-year anniversary trailer also referred to and congratulated the announcer providing the voice-over known as Teeds, who shared appreciation in response.
