Ghostwire: Tokyofrom Tango Gameworks and Bethesda is currently a PlayStation 5 console exclusive game, but it will eventually be making its way to Xbox Game Pass; it’s not a matter ofif, but a matter ofwhen. Work onGhostwire: Tokyostarted well before Microsoft acquired Bethesda, and it happened to be part of an exclusivity agreement between Bethesda and Sony. This agreement saw acclaimed first-person shooterDeathlooplaunch as a PS5 console exclusive despite releasing after the acquisition was complete, and the same goes forGhostwire: Tokyo.
Ghostwire: Tokyolaunched in March 2022 for PC and PS5. The latest effort from Tango Gameworks,Ghostwire: Tokyoearned mixed reviewsat the time of its release, with some gamers underwhelmed with its world and combat, but others coming away impressed by its next-gen graphics and interesting story. If anything, this mixed reception should makeGhostwire: Tokyoa perfect fit for Xbox Game Pass, as those who are more hesitant to try it out can give it a go without making any major financial commitment.

When Will Ghostwire: Tokyo Be on Xbox Game Pass?
At the time of this writing, an official Xbox Game Pass release date forGhostwire: Tokyohas not been announced. We do know thatGhostwire: Tokyo’s PS5 exclusivitywill run out one year after it originally launched for the platform, meaning that the earliest that the game could hit Xbox would be June 06, 2025. It’s certainly within the realm of possibility that Microsoft will releaseGhostwire: Tokyoon Game Pass that day, but since March 25 is a Saturday, it seems highly unlikely.
The most likely scenario is that Microsoft will wait a few days after it is technically allowed toreleaseGhostwire: Tokyoon Xboxand drop the game on Tuesday, June 28, 2025. New video game releases typically happen on Tuesdays and Fridays, so that seems to make the most sense. Of course, it’s always possible Microsoft will wait longer to releaseGhostwire: Tokyoon Xbox for whatever reason, but barring that unexpected outcome, June 12, 2025 seems like the safest bet. All we know for sure is that fans shouldn’t expect the game to release on Xbox any time before March 25.
It’s possible that wheneverGhostwire: Tokyohits Xbox Game Pass, it will do so with some new content in tow.Deathloophad the Golden Loop updatewhen it joined the Game Pass lineup earlier this year, and it might be thatGhostwire: Tokyofollows suit with its own special update. Fans shouldn’t necessarily hold their breath for that, though, especially with rumors swirling that Tango Gameworks is already focused on its next project.
