It’s a really strong start to the year for the service.A Plague Tale: Requiemnot only received high reviewsat launch, but it also received several awards in the months after its launch.Nobody Saves the Worldis a fun, procedural dungeon crawl with a great gimmick, andEvil Westlays everything on the line with its fun action gameplay. It’ll be interesting to see what Sony picks for the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for January 2024, but the sheer quality of this selection is undeniable.
For the uninitiated,A Plague Tale: Requiemis a sequel toA Plague Tale: Innocence, and it’s highly recommended that anyone who hasn’t played the first game does so before playingRequiem(of course, it’s possible to claim it and wait, however). The two games tell thestory of Amicia and her little brother Hugo, as the two are hunted for the supernatural powers of the latter. Without going into spoilers, it’s worth emphasizing that it’s effectively a story-focused action-adventure game, and the story is top-notch.

Meanwhile,Evil West’s story falls a bit flat, instead putting all of its emphasis on the action-packed gameplay. It’s a bit short, but given that it’s basically free onPS Plus, anyone who loves the supernatural, B movies, and fun gameplay may find it hard to ignore.Nobody Saves the Worldis a co-op RPG dungeon-crawler, where players are “nobodies” who can change forms into other creatures for a fun time.
Of course, PS Plus isn’t done with January yet. Fans can expect a properPS Plus Extra and Premium revealnext week, with the new games likely to be released on January 16.
