One of the first horror games confirmed for the PlayStation 5 is the third-party cosmic horror title from TeamKill Media,Quantum Error. ThePlayStation-exclusive game(it’s technically coming to the PS4 as well, but the definitive version will be on PS5) looks interesting from what little has been shown of it so far, and it has generated some excitement from horror fans who are planning to pick up a PS5. However, it’s possible that Xbox Series X gamers will eventually get the chance to play it as well.

TeamKill Media’s Dacoda and Micah Jones recently spoke to GamingBolt and revealed than an Xbox Series X port ofQuantum Erroris a possibility at some point. However, ifQuantum Errordoes comes to Xbox Series X, fans shouldn’t expect it to launch until some time after the game is already available on PS5 and PS4. Nintendo Switch owners, meanwhile, shouldn’t expectQuantum Errorat all, as the developers aren’t confident that the console can deliver the quality of graphics that they want to achieve with the game.

TeamKill Media also explained why it decided to releaseQuantum Erroras a PlayStation exclusive game. “There are many reasons. The simplest being we are comfortable with the PlayStation system, our relationship with Sony has been amazing, and feel that our game will run its very best on the PlayStation platform.”

One impressive feature aboutQuantum Erroris the sheer number of physical objects in the game that will have their own physics. According to the developers,99.9% ofQuantum Errorobjects are “physically simulated,“which should result in some interesting gameplay opportunities.

In the meantime, those worried that the PS5 version of the game will be hindered by the PS4 port shouldn’t have to worry. TeamKill is making the game specifically for the PS5, and will then be making concessions for theQuantum ErrorPS4 port. This way,Quantum Errorshould be able to take full advantage of the next-generation hardware and not be held back by the limitations of the PS4.

As for when horror fans will get to playQuantum Error, that remains to be seen. The developers aren’t sure yet ifQuantum Errorwill be aPS5 launch titleor not, but we should learn more in the coming months.
