Goodwill can be a treasure trove for clothes, but occasionally even electronics that are more than worth the trip can be found. In the small town of Brenham, TX, a Reddit user made aSuper Mariofind that made their day. A stroll through the store resulted in a retro game find that any SNES fan would be proud of. The cartridge wasSuper Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World, a combination of classic NES and SNESSuper Mariogames.
The Redditor came across a Super Nintendo game that was not only a good one but included more titles than one. This specific game cartridge includes all the games fromSuper Mario All-Starsas well as the SNES classic,Super Mario World. For mere two dollars, the same price paid by aFinal Fantasyfan for his Goodwill find, the gamer netted the whole NES trilogy ofSuper Mario Bros.,Super Mario Bros. 2, andSuper Mario Bros. 3.

In addition, the All-Stars bundle, not to be confused withSuper Mario 3D All-Stars, includesSuper Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. This game was originally released only in Japan and has an interesting history. It was calledSuper Mario Bros. 2in Japan, while the game westerners know by that name is calledSuper Mario Bros. USA. The game that many in the western hemisphere got their hands on in the late eighties, was released in Japan four years later in 1992.Super Mario All-Starswas also the first time The Lost Levels was officially released in the US and Europe.
The Super Mario All-Starsbundle has some interesting quirks, too. It doesn’t offer carbon copies of the NES classics. Instead, there are added features, including updated graphics and sound and an additional battle gameSuper Mario Bros. 3, which is based on theMario Bros.game. This makes the set of games sort of include even the first Mario game. While the box-less game cartridge is nota record-breaking $2 millionSuper Mariogame, and dozens of them can be found on eBay, it would most certainly brighten up a retro gamer’s day. Especially for the low price of $1.99.
The Goodwill trip included another find, too. The Reddit user in question found a recently-discountedRed Dead Redemption 2 Special Edition, but to his misfortune, the case wasn’t complete. It only included disc number two. After other Reddit users confirmed that using a regular disc one with a special edition disc two would not give him access anyRed Dead Redemption 2hidden content, this one isn’t likely going to be as exciting as the SNES cartridge.
The originalSuper Mario All-Stars + Super Mario Worldwas released in 1993 for the SNES.
