Invinciblehas landed some big names on the show, particularly from some of AMC’s biggest hit shows, like Steven Yeun, who plays the titular character Mark Grayson/Invincible, who played Glenn onThe Walking Dead. In fact, the original Guardians of the Globe consisted of actors who had roles on the zombie apocalypse show. Jon Hamm, best known for playing Don Draper onMad Men, guest starred as a secret service agent who appeared in the first two episodes of the show. When the showannounced season 2’s release date, they also revealed that Rhea Seehorn ofBetter Call Saulwill join the cast.

As Kirkman put it, Cranston would be a white whale to land because of his reputation as one of Hollywood’s best actors, thanks primarily to his performance as Walter White. However, while Cranston is known best for playing the chemistry teacher-turned-meth kingpin, many forget Cranston has a long history in comedy - which is why AMC executives initially laughed at the idea of casting him as White beforeBreaking Badaired - so no matter what kind of role they put Cranston in, he’d do well whether his character is intendedto be a villainor to make the audience laugh.

The show has done that before. Take their casting of Mark Hamill as supe tailor Art Rosenbaum. While anyone familiar with Hamill knows himbest as Luke Skywalker, anyone who’s familiar with his voice work knows his villainous roles as The Joker onBatman: The Animated Seriesand Firelord Ozai onAvatar: The Last Airbender. To see him not voice a dastardly villain made for a hilarious and fitting change. Who’s to say Cranston couldn’t do the same, like playing the reverse Walter White? In other words, someone who started out bad then became good?

Invincibleseason 2 will start streaming new episodes on July 18, 2025.
