Rumors have been swirling about a potential newSilent Hillgame for months, and now even more details about the supposed game have leaked online. Fans should take this information with a grain of salt, as they should all video game leaks, but the information is coming from a source that has proven to be reliable in the past.
AestheticGamer, who has accurately leaked news on other horror games in the past, has revealed more information on the rumoredSilent HillPS5 reboot. In a string of tweets, AestheticGamer has claimed that production on theSilent HillPS5 gamestarted in 2019, and that it is ongoing at Sony’s Japan Studio. The game is supposedly being directed by Keiichiro Toyama, who also served as the creative director of the originalSilent Hill.

AestheticGamer went on to say thatSilent Hill 2composer Akira Yamaokais also working on the project, along with Masahiro Ito, who previously teased aSilent Hillgame on Twitter. Developers of theGravity RushandSirenteams are said to be working on the game. Instead of being a remake as some previously believed,Silent Hillon PS5 will instead be a reboot so that while it won’t wipe away what’s happened before, it could be someone’s firstSilent Hillgame without having played the others.
In their tweets, AestheticGamer denied the rumors thatSony is buying Konami’s IP. They also denied the rumors that Kojima is working with Konami on aSilent Hillgame, reiterating more recent reports that Kojima’s horror game will be a completely original project.
Perhaps most excitingly, though, they said that the game is in playable state and even has a demo that will be shown to the public at some point after it’s revealed. Considering how popular thePTdemo forSilent Hillswas, perhaps fans will actually get to play theSilent HillPS5 demo at some point in the future.
If AestheticGamer’s information is accurate, this could be an indication that theSilent HillPS5 exclusive will be unveiled alongside thePlayStation 5itself. Sony has said that it has an impressive lineup of PS5 games that it will reveal soon, and ifSilent Hillis already in a playable state, it seems like a no-brainer to show it off. However, that’s assuming that this information is correct, and it’s entirely possible that it’s not. Considering this,Silent Hillfans should definitely keep their expectations in check.
