[UPDATE: Sony has confirmed that Godfall: Challenger Edition, Mortal Shell, and LEGO DC Super-Villains are the free PS Plus games for December. There seems to be some confusion as to whether or not Challenge Edition is base game + endgame content or is just a curated endgame experience, with it seemingly leaning toward the latter. ThePS Plusfree games for December 2021 are in a bit of an interesting scenario. With the ways the date falls, they won’t be released until December 1, which isn’t technically later than normal but does fall on a later date than most are used to. Secondly, some believedHeavenly Bodieswould be a PS Plus game, as its release date and pre-order status lined up.

The Valorian Knight Equipped With A Greatsword In Godfall

However, that no longer seems to be the case. This rumor and prediction has been superseded by one that is more concrete. Dealabs has leaked basically every PS Plus free game selection for the past few months, and it has done so again for December. It should be taken with a grain of salt, but history backs up its claim thatGodfall, Mortal Shell, andLEGO DC Super-Villainsare December’s PlayStation Plus games. The next step, of course, is asking what these games are.

PS Plus Free Game for December – Godfall

At launch,Godfallreceived mixed to average reviews, hitting roughly a 59 on PC and 61 on PS5 Metacritic score.Godfall’s high fantasy setting splits the game world into realms of Earth, Water, Air, and so on while players must, as last of the Knight’s Order, stop the apocalypse. The biggest attraction toGodfallis its Valorplates, which are based on the Zodiac. These Valorplates are almost similar to character classes, as they also influence their weapon classes. At launch, these included the longsword, dual blades, polearm, two-handed Warhammer, and two-handed greatsword.

Overall, it embraces a “looter-slasher” genre, its spin-off of the looter shooter genre, and has received a ton of support at launch. If someone avoided it due toGodfall’s reviews, it may be worth checking out, especially for those who love co-op (it supports up to 3 co-op players). Plus, if they do enjoy it, then there’s the Fire and Darkness expansion to check out.
