A fan ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimcame across a chest with an odd name. The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimfeatures several beautiful cities, and Whiterun is probably among the most well-known towns in the game.
Whiterun is one of the first major cities players visit in their playthrough ofThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, and it works as a stepping stone for the Dragonborn’s adventures in these lands. Users will also find the Companions, a group that works similarly to theFighters Guild in otherElder Scrollsgames, in this city. Now, oneSkyrimfan found a weird chest in the inventory of one of Whiterun’s NPCs.

A Reddit user named locopinhodao has shared an image featuring a strange chest they found in the inventory of Ulfberth War-Bear, anNPC in Whiterun. As seen in the picture, the item is a weird-looking chest titled “do not delete,” without any other information that aims to describe its purpose in the game. The user locopinhodao accidentally found Ulfberth War-Bear selling this chest, although they think that it has zero utility inSkyrimand believe it to be a bugged item. However, there seems to be a reasonable explanation for the existence of this chest in the world ofSkyrim.
According to one of the comments on the post,The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis filled with similar do not delete chests that store a part of the game’s code in each cell. Other users seem to corroborate this story, so there appears to be a genuine reason for these chests to exist in the game.
One fan claims that all stores inSkyrimhave one, and they are utilized for storing random pieces of content. They also state that these chests are usually placed below the game’s geometry, so most players will probably not see one in their playthrough. Aside from a discussion on the item’s purpose, some users jokingly ask locopinhodao to delete the chest, with one telling them tomake a new save inSkyrimbefore they try anything.
Players can interact with Ulfberth War-Bear to trade weapons and armor in addition to materials used in smithing. As expected, the smithing skill tree has some useful benefits, such as the ability to craft powerful pieces of equipment and improve them even further. Smithing is just one of severalskill trees players have access to inThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, each offering its own unique set of benefits.
