Even after all these years, there’s no telling what will occur during a casual playthrough ofSkyrim, and one fan captures the moment when they are somehow able to ride on the back of a dragon after it’s been killed. As theunbelievably successful follow-up toOblivion, the fifth entry in Bethesda’s iconicElder Scrollsseries is a force to be reckoned with, not only in the RPG genre, but in mainstream gaming in general.

Besides an intoxicating and beautiful landscape to explore, as well as a host of NPCs to interact with and plenty of quests to keep fans busy,Skyrimis famous for its inclusion of dragons. These winged beasts play a vital role in the main storyline, with players encountering them at a moment’s notice while they go about their merry way across the province. While they are quite intimidating at first, especially for newcomers, most will do battle with enough of them to know how capable these flying monsters are, and many will even get to ride them.

However, once a dragon is killed, its soul is captured by the player and its skeleton is left behind as a signifier of the fight that occurred. But, as noted by Reddit user overlorddeathslime, it is possible to climb on the back of one of theseSkyrimbeasts when it’s no longer alive. A recent clip from their playthrough shows them approaching a dragon after they attacked it with a Shout, with the option to ride it appearing. However, it’s clear that something’s gone wrong in the game. As overlorddeathslime sits atop the animal, its skin begins to burn away as if it’s just been killed. Indeed, the clip ends with the player now riding the back of a dragon skeleton, as though nothing’s out of the ordinary. The clip can beviewed right here.

It’s a pretty strange thing to have happened, though user Bandit_Outlaw refers to overlorddeathslime’s clip as being “pretty badass.“Skyrimis well known for its litany of bugs, some of which can be detrimental to the overall experience, but there are some which can either be amusing, or just a little bit odd. In any case, the sight of the Dragonborn flying in the sky atop the skeleton of one of these majestic beasts is quite something.

It’s also interesting to see thatSkyrimfans are still finding things out about the gamemore than 11 years after it was released. It’s part of the reason Bethesda’s epic RPG is still popular to this day, but it does also highlight that one thing that keeps players entertained is all the glitches that remain.
