The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimis a massive open world experience filled with thousands of different NPCs that players interact with over the course of their adventure. SomeSkyrimcharacters have become fan favorites, while others are loathed by the community. Perhaps the most-hated NPC in all ofSkyrimis Nazeem (who runs the Chillfurrow Farm outside of Whiterun), and so he’s become a popular punching bag fo the community.

Nazeemis mean to pretty much everyone he comes across, including the Dragonborn. Nazeem’s negative attitude has made him one of the game’s least popular characters and has put a sizable target on his back. There are many clips online ofSkyrimplayers killing or otherwise tormenting Nazeem, but one of the more recent ones is especially bizarre.

In a clip recently uploaded to theSkyrimsubreddit, Reddit user walter-fring managed to decapitate Nazeem. Nazeem’s head remains suspended in mid-air, while his body gets back up like nothing happened. Nazeem’s body then starts to move around independently of his head, though his head makes some strained efforts to rejoin his body. What makes this clip even stranger is that walter-fring claims to have pulled it off without using any ofSkyrim’s many mods.

According to walter-fring’s testing, Nazeem is stuck in this state permanently. And while Nazeem is still able to walk around and otherwise act like things are normal, he is unable to speak. SinceNazeem is so hated by theSkyrimcommunityfor the way he talks to people, it makes sense that fans are happy to see his speaking ability taken away from him. The post has amassed nearly 15,000 upvotes at the time of this writing, so it seems many in theSkyrimcommunity are happy to see Nazeem get his comeuppance, as strange as the whole situation may be.

This is far from the first time that someone in theSkyrimcommunity has uploaded a clip of themselves attacking Nazeem, and fans have only gotten more creative about it over time. The release ofcertainSkyrim VRmodshave made it possible for players to physically slap Nazeem in that version of the game, and others have turned killing Nazeem into a project in and of itself.

For example, oneSkyrimplayer iskilling Nazeem every single day untilThe Elder Scrolls 6is released. They have managed to kill Nazeem 258 times at the time of this writing, and withElder Scrolls 6still years away from release, it’s unlikely that they will be done killing him at any point in the near future.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Editionis out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
