When Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire first appeared inSpider-Man: No Way Home, theater crowds were ecstatic and burst into cheers. The cherry on top was the two of them getting together with Tom Holland, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Peter Parker, and recreating the iconicSpider-Manmeme. Sony Pictures has now released a behind-the-scenes reel of how the meme was created, and how much fun the actors had when bringing it to life.

For months fans speculated whether Garfield and Maguire would in fact make an appearance inSpider-Man: No Way Home. Many were convinced that it was going to happen, while others looked for clues in posters, trailers, and leaked set photos. TheSpider-Manmeme became the tool of choice when fans discussed theories of a live-action Spider-Verse. Clearly Sony was paying attention, as after the release ofSpider-Man No Way Home, alive-action version of the Spider-Man memewas recreated by the actors.

The image of Holland, Maguire, and Garfield wearing theirrespectiveSpider-Mancostumesand pointing at each other went viral, similar to the artistic meme of three Spider-Men. When looking at the image, many fans wondered what it would have been like to have the three actors pose in such a way. Well, it seems like Sony had a response ready for that question, too, and the behind-the-scenes reel of the three actors having a ball on set is exactly what fans needed to see.

The minute-long reel was revealed as part of the promotions forSpider-Man: No Way Home’s digital release. It is among the list of exclusive content that fans can get their hands on. With no interviews, the reel simply uses dialogues from the film along with theSpider-Mansoundtrack. It evokes the same emotion as seeing the three Spider-Men coming together towards the end of the film and relying on each other in order to save the planet from evil villains.

The video shows Holland meeting Maguire and Garfield on set, and the chemistry between the three seems completely natural. As they are photographed, the three cannot seem to maintain a poker face and burst out into laughter several times. The three were obviously aware of all the fan theories prior to the film’s release, and seem to be laughing because they are the keepers of a giant secret.Garfield even lied several timesabout his involvement inSpider-Man: No Way Homebefore the film premiered. Either way, it is a wholesome video, and seeing the three actors together gives fans hopes of perhaps seeing them play their versions of the web-slinging hero again.
