Lee left ConcernedApe LLC in 2022 to pursue his own projects, and upon his departure from ConcernedApe, Lee says he “was given his blessing to use it…” for his farming game. Since then, Lee has been regularly updating fans on Twitter about his progress on the game, which was recently officially titledSunkissed City.
Lee announced thatSunkissed Cityis now available to wishlist on Steam and has an expected Q4 2024 release date on PC, with console release hopefully soon after. With inspiration drawn fromrealistic life simslikeHarvest Moonand, of course,Stardew Valley, Sunkissed Cityis a highly anticipated arrival for fans of these iconic titles. The life sim is set in Apollo City, a funky seaside metropolis where players can befriend its interesting residents and work to bring back life to the city.Sunkissed Citywill feature many similar skills and activities toStardew Valley, such as farming, foraging, and fishing, but with exciting additional features to enjoy.
What To Expect From Sunkissed City
Players will explore the city as a new hire at the Pico Corporation, tasked with vouching for the company’s new eco-focused initiatives. But with lifeless waters, aggressive wildlife, monster-infested sewers, and mysterious migraines plaguing Apollo City residents, it seemsSunkissed Citycould be aneco-conscious game, tasking players with restoring the city’s environment. Along the way, players can level up in unique skills like reading, eating, and sleeping, in addition to classic skills of the genre such as cooking, fishing, combat, and the like. Of course, players can befriend the quirky residents of Apollo City as well as enjoy the shops they run, such as Salon Flamingo’s hairdresser, Mingo, or the owner of The Weird Dog Café, Henk.
Sunkissed Cityoffers lots of fun features for fans of the sim genre, as well as the groovy and neon-filled setting of Apollo City. It seemsStardew Valleyfans have lots to look forward to, with bothSunkissed CityandStardew Valley’s1.6 update expected to arrive in 2024, andHaunted Chocolatieron the horizonas well.
