Starfieldis an expansive new Bethesda universe full of engaging questlines, detailed environments and interesting characters. As in previous Bethesda titles, it is possible to have both companions and romances, though the options presented to the player are relatively limited. There are only currently four romance options in the game, all of which are members of the Constellation society. Players will be required to join this faction as part of the game’s primary quest-line, giving them plenty of chances to build up a relationship with their chosen partner.
Rather than one-night stands or themore extensive romantic options of Baldur’s Gate 3, Bethesda took a different approach to relationships inStarfield. Once players have completed the requisite questlines associated with their lovers, they will receive the option to “commit” to their chosen partner. Following this, players are able to marry their romance, which includes an elaborate wedding ceremony on the beaches of Paradiso.

Romance Options
Despite the numerous planets throughout the Settled Systems, romance options remain slim inStarfieldand are confined to close members of the player’s party. Each romantic partner will first need to be recruited as a companion, and each will have their own personal quests which must be completed first. Maintaining a good standing by consistently winning their approval through actions and speech options can also go a long waytowards securing commitment.
After a while spent traveling with certain companions, the [Flirt] option will start to become available in certain dialogue interactions. Persuing this will lead the player towards fulfilling a romance with that character. In order to generate the [Flirt] dialogue option, players can engage in activities such as completing quests and building outposts with their partner. Making choices that align with that character’s specific philosophies while they are in your company will also help. For example,choices which go against the Freestar Collectivewill not be a good way to win the affection of Sam Coe.

Marriage
Once players have developed a close enough relationship with their lover, theywill be able to propose to them. If they accept (which is very likely) the player will then get a new quest centered around the wedding. Players can select who they wish to invite before heading to Paradiso for the ceremony. Marrying one of the Constellation companions will then present new dialogue options in the future, but players hoping for any cutscenes depicting sex will be disappointed. Far from the fully-simulated details ofCyberpunk 2077, players will simply wake up next to their lover when they stay in an owned bed together.
